I've always considered Notch the God of creation. However, it would be friggin cool if his nemesis was the God of night and its dark creatures, Herobrine. Maybe Herobrine created the nether in an attempt to compete with his brother Notch.
The covenant: Herobrine and Notch can not destroy each other.
Maybe Notch could add a backstory to some regular minecraftian that rises up to become the God of protection. Fighting off Herobrine and his evil plans, to keep the world safe for the creations of Notch
How are the numbers random if an entity decides them?
Mind = blown
I disagree with the notion that Notch is the god of Minecraft. He is more of a prophet, bringing the message of the gods to the people. There would be, at least, two gods.
The life-bringer god of all living things
And the Destroyer god of all the nasty crap that wants to eat your face and wreck your ****.
I had a big idea for a fanfiction where there are two gods, Notch the Creator and Herobrine the Destructor. Both resided in the Aether (see the Suggestion forums) as brothers until an unoriginal conflict occurred, resulting in Notch slaying Herobrine but because he's a god he can't really die, giving him the white eyes, and so Notch creates the Nether as a prison for him and banishes him there.
Notch is the creator (hence the term) of all the neutral mobs (pigs, cows, chickens etc), and Herobrine, wishing to strike back at his brother's creations, creates the creepers (hence the Destructor), and after seeing their success, creates skeletons, zombies and spiders, and ghasts to defend his own realm.
Then I realised how effing idiotic the whole idea sounded and punched myself in the stomach for being so stupid.
Notch: Supreme God and Almighty Creator of Minecraftia.
Ez: The Yin to Notch's Yang. The Jelly to his Peanut Butter. The Water to his Magma. Consider her no less than he.
Jeb: Brought to minecraft, along with the rest of the Mojang Pantheon, to expand Minecraftia.
RNGod: Created and modified by Notch to fit his needs, but generally free to to act of it's own accord. It is your best friend. It is your worst enemy. It will curse you when you love it. It will bless you when you hate it. It is the Random Number Generator.
How are the numbers random if an entity decides them?
Can the ineffable Random Number God generate a number so random that even he cannot predict its value?
Doesn't the random number generator use an algorithm to create random values? Such that it's not truly random. I don't think anyone's created a program that can generate truly random numbers, only a machine
I believe that there are three gods of Minecraft: Mianite (god of the Overworld), Dianite (god of the Nether) and Ianite (god of the End). All of them are incorporated into a singular religion called Trinitism, where you have Mianitees, Dianitees and Ianitees all following the beliefs of Mianitism, Dianitism and Ianitism respectively. All Trinites (believers in Trinitism) are theistic, removing the possibility of any god interfering with the creation of another god. However, the gods are not so much characterised by the lands they've created but by the characteristics of the gods, of which these characteristics were fleshed out in their own stories. These stories dictate the political and religious beliefs of Trinites, though the stories leave many aspects of the beliefs vague for regular Trinites to adjust their personal political beliefs more flexibly.
The god Mianite is characterised as having an interest in large government role, military growth/professionalisation, patriotism and the Socialist ideology. Many Mianitees are known for being politicians, civil servants, supporters of Socialism and Democratic Socialism, government workers, members of the military, and generally anyone who likes a large degree of government involvement in the economy and law.
What exactly are the names of the gods for the mobs?
There should be a god for every mob with a back story as well.
Notch
Pig God
Sheep God
Cow God
Chicken God
Squid God
Zombie God
Spider God
Skeleton God
Creeper God
Slime God
So what are there names and whats their description? I will add the ideas to the post lets come up with the Gods of Minecraft and make it official!
