Well, to be honest, it's a game. Nothing you do in the game affects you in real life, except if you're psychotic. In the game, it's perfectly okay to eat and kill for pork, brew potions and enchant things, etc. You don't have to "stone" others in-game or pray in-game. As long as you follow the rules in real life and the game doesn't affect you, you're okay.
hmmmm.....
I'm muslim and think thats amazing, i should build a masjid (mosque)
if you could make a mod that would be amazing, if you do plan on it, i'd like to be on the developer team, i can't code but i'm a well of ideas!

I like your ideas.. I'm a Muslim too but don't take too serious on games. It does not gives you sins or things like that.
Unless the game have an obvious reference to Muslim. for you for being a Ultra Loyal Muslim. I like that.
Just wow, lol. I'm a Muslim and I don't think it's wrong because it's all fake, but theirs some people who disagree. Just do what you think is right I guess, lol.
I also have to say that not being able to eat pork/meat SUCKS.
You have it all wrong, most people who are not a Muslim ALL misinterpret what we are saying, lol. First of all we CAN eat meat, just not meat that came from an animal that was shot by a weapon or killed in a bad way, and we don't eat pork also because not only are we forbid from eating it, it's also really bad for is so many different ways.

Kind of funny that you seem to be misinterpreting this thread. Once again, I'd like to point out that I don't think it's wrong to not follow the rules of Islam in Minecraft, I'm just doing it for fun.
Also, "most" and "ALL" are kind of contradictory. And as far as I know you can eat an animal shot with a weapon as long as the killing blow is a swift slit of the throat, but I don't hunt much so I'm not sure.
I look at potions as falling into three ethical/moral groups (roughly).
Some potions save your life and act like true medical treatments. Regeneration potion, instant healing potion, weakness potion (as applied to villager zombies to "cure" them of their fearsome disease). You should feel free to use these potions anytime you need them.
Some potions prevent a condition or hazard or improve an existing innate ability. They act like vaccines or vitamins do to prevent disease and enhance normal function. Fire resistance, damage resistance, and strength potion are examples of this type. You should be able to use them prudently but they can be unbalanced and therefore "unnatural" if used excessively. Fire resistance potions making you totally immune to fire for 3 or 8 minutes seems far-fetched, I think if any of these are borderline unfair, it's that one.
Lastly some potions give unnatural enhancements that are meant to give the player an unbalanced advantage over nature. Invisibility, night vision, speed, jumping, and poison/harm potions give the player something they would not ordinarily be able to do under any circumstances, and are heavily used to take advantage of other players or distort the game experience. They should probably not be used in an idealist ethical/moral/doctrinal system. This goes for any religion or sect.
I don't know if it's equally unethical/immoral, in a simulated religious Minecraft experience, to be able to craft a block or item that grants night vision (e.g. infrared goggles) or speed (a car or skateboard or something). I would think having a permanent item that grants the same bonus as a temporary potion, probably would make it more immoral, not less.
This assumes that players walking to their destinations in unadorned, un-enchanted armour is to be the measure of things.
A great dissection of potions, however in the point of view of Islam I'd disagree with that last section. In Islam, advancement is a good thing, and you should always do what you can to gain an edge as long as its not unethical. So basically, do everything you do the best you can. So any technology or potion helping you survive or prosper is good as long as its not at the expense of others. Of course the Amish might disagree, and maybe a few other cultures and religions. But really that would mean you should run around naked hunting with your bear hands, since clothing and weapons and, in fact, any sort of potion, is giving you an advantage over your environment.
Reply to: But of course there is the question: What if I don't have the ability to make a compass at the time? Then of course I just pray any direction, just like in the real world. (Correct me if I'm wrong here.)
Actually, if you do not know where the Ka'aba is, you pray towards the direction in which the sun sets.
Never heard of that before, and in fact it doesn't sound right to me, as it resembles Shirk. Any evidence to support it, such as an ayah or Hadith?
From what I know of the Qur'an, I believe tax and intrest is despised by Islam, so how about you cannot use a villager trade more than once as I believe the price can rise over time.
Tax isn't bad, but interest is, so that's a good point. If I remember I'll add it to the OP.

Indeed, but I can imaging that it is just fun to live in Minecraft like you live in the real world. It can be a real and inspiring challenge to life by the rules of a more strict religion or way of life ingame. Maybe even a religion or way of living you don't follow, so you can maybe conceive a little bit with those who are following it in real life and learn a little bit more about them. It is always good to expand your mind and Minecraft can be a great game to do that on a fun, playful manner.
In Minecraft you are totally free to live in your world like you want to live. So you can also obey rules you also obey in real life, if you want and like that. Nobody is obliged to live there like the most people in the west live their lives.
Now you're getting it. XP And indeed it is.

Hello? Eat my tarts? In this cosmic dance of bursting decadence, withheld permissions twist all our arms collectively. But if sweetness can win- and it can- then I'll still be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday my friend. Peace.
I am doing basically the same thing, but with Judaism. I might post a pic of the synagogue I built in my village.
I use command blocks to stand for a calendar, so I can tell what day it is, and I don't work, craft, or carry anything on Saturday.

If you post pics I'll throw them in the gallery. Also that calendar idea is interesting, as well as the following of Sabbath if I'm not mistaken. (That's Saturday in Arabic! And Hebrew too I'm guessing.)

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

You don't have to play Minecraft this way. It's just meant to be a different way to play it. No one's forcing you to.

Games are all about restrictions and rules. Hence why godmoding makes games boring, and why health bars, limited ammo, and difficulties exist. Without rules and challenges there is no game. So we're just introducing our own rules and challenges to make it funner. Think of it like a handicap, like an unarmed only playthrough of Skyrim or something.

No one forces you to play this way. For me ill just restrict myself to eating fish on the Minecraftian Fridays pretty much just for the challenge. It gives a tiny little twist to the game, you might have new goals, or maybe even get a reason to do something. (plus fishing gives you treasure )
