<quote="johnratchet3">I may possibly have a more time-consuming door... A door made of sand. What is this madness you ask? Doesn't it take way longer to dig through obsidian? Well, sure, it does. But it might take longer to dig through the 64 + sand stacked on top of the sand door...

(puts torch under one block of sand, waits 12. secs)
How are you going to get it underneath?
many ways! break one block, put the torch there as the sand starts to fall or
sand
then I just break the grass block
EDIT: That was a big quote chain.
How will you get the grass block without hacks? After all, grass blocks don't get into your inventory, and there is no light there.
Anyways, I understand what you intended to mean, although not what you actually said.

pretty obviously hacked to build..not impressive at all and just a pain to look at >.> I guess it is sorta neat...but nothing more.
i think its neet but i frown upon hacks also. AND i watch your lets play its awesome
who ****ing cares what he used to make it. it's a funny idea, so chill out and laugh
He did not hack to build it... I think.
Besides, this is the most inefficient house. Although you need to change the furnace stairs. Maybe alternate dispensers and note blocks.
However, if this was a real, efficient house, you wouldn't be digging under the door. What's the point of having a door? Similarly ,you wouldn't dig under the door here.
I may have a solution to the anti-sand column torch trick. Front view:
Now what are you going to do? You can't even stem water where the tnt is triggered, since the sand takes the water's place, puts the TNT in a dry environment, which unlocks its full block-destroying power, so your meddling forces you to rebuild the front half of the house (or the whole thing if it sets the roof off...), never mind the slow sand that stops you from fleeing to safety. I love this house :tongue.gif:
If I may quote Meddyan for a rather suitable remark on the trick

Well, I mostly meant that it's interesting, but not overly so. But he didn't use diamond block, which I thank you so much for(So ugly!)
I think you're missing the point man. You're being overly skeptical. The point of making this house. is that there was a **** load of work poured into making this, (if it was all legit). Gold is rather rare, or atleast hard to find enough to make enough blocks, and everything else in the house would take awhile to make and stuff.
Point being, there is a LOT of work in this house, and it's incredibly 100% overly fragile. It's a joke, made for humor, laugh a little.
That's the reason, he obviously didn't use diamond. Because Gold is worthless, and fragile, where as diamond is strong and valuable.

hit the tnt and run away, or just put a torch on it.'
boom.
beat that.
and yes, you can put torchs on tnt. it works just fine
This is getting off-topic now, but remember you have to stick the torch under (already falling) sand. Not likely.
I tested it, it works just fine.

I just realized something else about this idea.
*mines sand*
*misses next sand, activates TNT*
BOOM
Hehe.
Anyways, the house should not be surrounded by obsidian. It should be surrounded with TNT. TNT is more inefficient. And harder to mine through without blowing up.

people can easly punch thourgh walls to get in house so i have an idea to fix it
the log respsents the jukebohide the tnt in a thick 3 wall so ir cant be see the tnt
keep the libary and jukebox the same now if you try cheating instead of punching the osbain door you have
to destoy the house to get bcak in then you have to collect materials to rebuild it

But how will you get underneath the sand?
If your hands are made of lighning, you can right-click the instant the block goes bye-bye.
Lighting is far too fast to be inefficient enough for this thread.

Thats worse : )
that mine-cart thing that makes a force field behind the door so you have to hold forword to.
