How many of you play the game like a nomad? Rather than setting up a house somewhere, you eschew building materials and travel instead, grabbing resources where you can. I find myself having a lot of fun with this play style. Sure, you don't build anything amazing, but I feel like it's more adventurous. You are always in unknown lands, fighting to survive, rather than just waiting safely in your house every night.
So, any nomads out there in cube world?

Nature should really stop catering to all these furries! I mean, do we REALLY need two kinds of elephant? Puh-leaze.
Ya I usually go nomad. I like to make a path that I follow after a long amount of nights to a temple that i sacrifice all my resources and start over going a different way. So far its been 2 times that I passed by it.

Isnt that more of a pilgrimage or ritual sacrifice?
I have a game where I just go exploring and get what I can along the way to survive. This game is great in the number of different play styles it accommodates.

Ya I guess it is. I'm thinking of starting a new world.

That's a pretty cool idea, actually. I could build a compass and build a shrine on my spawn. Then, I could could put trophies of my conquests. Huzzah!

I'm a nomadic mole. I burrow out every now and then to kill a few cows and pigs, and burrow back down. I've been adopted by slimes on several occasions as cave moss has taken to growing on my skin http://www.minecraft.net/skin/skin.jsp? ... ltingPoint :tongue.gif:
I liked to be nomadic in pre-1.8, because it was so cool to explore the terrain that never looked the same, but now with the grid-like biomes and the fact that you have to farm and stuff just to survive even if you don't fight, I don't do it as often. :sad.gif:

How did you go to sea, for a long voyage like that? did you just stock up on food and resources and take a boat or did you have a mod such as the Archimedes' Ships mod?

I didnt feel like building a house over again and such. The only problem is getting through the first few nights with this playstyle.

I'll have to start up a world where I live as a nomad.

FOR SCIENCE!!
Necrothreading ftw!
Anyhow, I'm not much of a nomad myself, mainly because I have nowhere interesting to travel to. I guess it helps when you have a goal.
As a sidenote, Kurtjmac is perhaps the best at playing nomad-style.
