Let's say that as a server owner or user you are given two choices for your server.
The first choice:
A lagless server. It has an amazing connection with VERY low ping and high upload and download speeds and can handle any amount of network strain. There is one problem, though. It can only run about 8 hours a day, 12 hours on weekends, in the timezone in which most players can play.
This is the choice for quality.
The second choice:
A server that can host constantly, without interruption, and pretty reliably, but has limited upload/download speeds, so maps are slow to load, and it is really laggy when there is a number of people on the server.
This is the choice for quantity.
They run identically (minus maploading speed) with 2-6 people.
