Well, I'm on my way to getting banned from just about every server because of trigger-happy admins. Seriously, how about you tell me you don't like swastikas before permabanning me? How did you know I wasn't going to go build a house after I built it? What harm is it going to do if I draw one into your No Grief sign, especially when the letters are invulnerable blocks and I had no clue it wasn't allowed?
After doing a forum search, I found out swastikas are supposed to be a signature that a lot of griefers used. Alright, fair enough. Still, how is a new player supposed to know this? Can an admin just tell me not to do it? I even fell in a hole one time, one of those that go straight down, and started tunneling my way out. BAM, banned.
Also, to the guy that placed me on the griefer list; I had no clue we were roleplaying on that Underworld/Overworld server. I was gonna build a castle at the start, something I do quiet often, and instead of asking me what I was doing or telling me to stop, I get permabanned for no reason.
Seriously, can I get a warning before I do something wrong? Getting kicked from the server would send the message. Why permaban me for unknowingly breaking the rules?
"Seriously, how about you tell me you don't like swastikas before permabanning me?"
Stopped reading right there. I don't see the problem in banning you in this case, to be honest. I wouldn't hesitate if I saw you making swastikas.
Hurrrrrr, let's not read the rest of the post. Let's just read the first two sentences and assume we know what the rest is gonna say.

Wow, I guess you really got me there!
It doesn't matter if griefers use it or not, people might get offended - regardless of your intentions. If you keep getting thrown out just create your own server instead where you can make as many swastikas as you'd like.

It's the internet. I see penises created all the time, and the admins never do anything about that.
And still, that doesn't address the fact that the admin can still kick me, or tell me to stop. I'll happily oblige.

Then you should talk to the admins of the server in question and ask them if it's allowed to create swastikas. It's not a universal rule that swastikas are disallowed, but I guess it's very common to get banned for making those on most servers.

Well, when I first played the game, all the servers I joined had swastikas everywhere. Also, the admins never make their presence aware, they just ban me immediately. What's wrong with kick? They're stunting the growth of the community by permabanning people who may have been good players. Ask yourself, gentleman, who is the real Nazi here? And who is the real kitten?

Then you should stick to those servers. I would personally ban anyone who were making swastikas on my own server. Why? Because it's usually no idea trying to talk to them about it. It's not like one is making those swastikas "just to be creative". Even if I'm wrong, that's how I feel. Every server has it's own rules.
Asking for a warning is understandable, but you should also understand that griefers can destroy great amounts of things in a small amount of time. Due to that, most server admins will outright ban at the first sign of it. Any hesitation will mean even more damage. If you fall into a hole, respawn back out. Digging your way back out is a fine way to flood other people's things, and generally create pointless holes in the map.
Also, the swastika thing really should be common sense. It's a swastika, and to make it worse, your name is NaziKitten. Granted, just building one should result in a "hey, don't do that", or kick. But again, this game is full of griefers, and any sign of them is most likely going to result in a ban. Knee jerk reaction? Yes, but the more you play this, the more you see it's actually necessary.
Next time, check if the server has an appeals email or something similar. If not, simply ask here who runs it, or go ahead and ask to be unbanned and state your reason.

My name is used on a different forum, and I made it so that the people on there would know me when they say me. I made a new account called Queen when I started to realize it would give me trouble, but the servers IP banned me, so it didn't make any difference.
And as I said, the first few servers I joined were literally swastika cities. It's only been recently that this whole flood of bans has occurred. If the admins want to stop griefers, they should be, ya know, admins, and follow them around the first few minutes to see if they're griefing. I know they can do it because I've been on servers where it's happened, and those are always the best ones. They're empty most of the time though, so that's not good.
In addition, although I doubt anyone will agree with me, it's kind of pointless to throw such a fit when your stuff gets griefed. I only build stuff that's small, or has room for a lot of customization. If you want to build huge towers and stuff where every block counts, do it in singleplayer. For me, the funnest part of the game is coming back and seeing what's been done with your stuff. Even when it does get destroyed, I still feel nostalgic thinking "Man, I remember building that wall...good times". Then again, that's just my opinion, so whatever.
Look, no matter what this has degenerated in to, the basic message is this: NaziKitten would like fair warning sometimes, which is reasonable depending on the circumstances. However, many server administrators ARE going to shoot first and ask questions later, especially in the case of swastikas OR penises (as opposed to some idle digging or breaking a wall to glitch up a structure, for example), and that's just the nature of the beast in this case.
Yes lets build alone on a huge project that's more fun to build with other people. That makes the most sense.
Not.
a) Why would you build a swastika anyway?
:cool.gif: It's offensive material. If you're going to build something offensive ask first
c) There are a lot of servers out there, learn from you mistakes and move on.
