I was just on there but didn't see it, oh well. =( Must have been on the other side of the map. I did see a sponge sphere though and some partially flooded glass tunnels on the seabed.
There was (is?) some griefer on your server by the way, most probably the one that pointed the finger at me out of nowhere while I was helping Daedelus and MinMiner(?) unflood the glass room (and find the hole that MinMiner slipped through which kept reflooding it)... And I got banned for it.
Unless that person was a very well trusted member of the server you should probably check into what he's been doing recently, and even if he is a trusted member he apparently saw me helping out and thought I was hindering. I've been on the server before and have talked to you a few times.
Also someones castle has a butchered floor above sea level near spawn, I entered there and saw it mutilated and thought it best to leave it to the builder (whom i presume was the afk guy out front) to fix it because... funnily enough.. I didn't want to get banned for messing with someone elses structure (what if I rebuilt it wrong?).
I only say this because I can't get the private messages, if there are any, to work on this forum, and know no other way to appeal since it's not an official server to my knowledge, and I think it was you who banned me. It wouldn't bother me much if this wasn't the account I was planning to eventually pre-order the game on sometime in the holidays.
Yeah the ocean server seems to always be the one with the most people on, so there's a lot of creativity and community. Although it also means (especially now with sponge) that it's a prime location griefers can hit because there's more people to annoy.
I'd kinda like to know why I was just banned completely out of nowhere. The only thing I've done on the server is fix griefing damage. I've helped unflood/repair that statue twice now. Then I'm just repairing some holes in the bridge by the spawn point and someone bans me. I am confused.
Heh thanks for the praise :tongue.gif: look out for other things ive created.. like a giant colour cube... and the Enterprise. dunno what im gonna do next... Moya maybe? :tongue.gif:
also, Deadalus, i'l ask Redshift about your ban if he can lift it. :smile.gif:
EDIT: Also, its been touched up with the new colours and looks even more like him. lol.

That's what happened to me. =( People are really touchy at the moment when it comes to griefing and it's hard to tell who is and who's not until they start doing serious damage I guess. I would have thought you wouldn't have gotten outright banned though seeing as you have a custom skin (Stone right?) and people who have bought the game typically don't have griefing on their mind. Moderating things can get difficult at times though, if your name isn't known to the community (just general example) then your motives or personality/character are hard to determine and there's little evidence to support against wild claims because nobody knows you. From a moderator's point of view it's sometimes safest to ban a potential no-name griefer than to witness him doing serious damage as confirmation beforehand. =(
Just from being on the server at the time I got banned though (Helping you unflood some glass dome) I thought you were friends or at least well known with the moderators because you were talking openly with them like you'd known them for some time. =\ I don't know though, people are just a bit jumpy at the moment, when someone sees you deleting spammed blocks they may assume you're just outright deleting, or when you put down sponges to de-flood somewhere they assume you're spamming sponges for the sake of it. It wouldn't hurt if we actually got confronted first instead of ban first ask questions never, but that's up to each moderator's personal way of going about things and sometimes there's just no time if people are eager for a quick solution to a cancerous griefer they cannot find on the server, banning anyone who shows the slightest hint they may be the perpetrator of the recent havoc without any real evidence.
Reminds me of the old witch hunts really... =\
On a second note: I don't think I got unbanned after all. >.< I think the person who banned me IP banned me or something, so if you (RedShift) unbanned "Shadrouge" (or couldn't find it because my IP was the thing banned and my name never mentioned in the list) then I still can't connect. =\ Made a temporary dud account to see if it would let me join but that one just freezes up too. Connects to other servers fine. I'm not sure how the whole thing works (haven't hosted a MineCraft server before) but if you need my IP address in order to find which one to un-ban then I can try to email it to you through these forums.
I particularly like how it freezes the browser when you try to join a server you're banned from. Does Notch realize it does that? It might be worse if I didn't have another core, cause it takes up the entire processor that it's running on when it freezes. I dunno.

Mine did that, it used to crash the browser completely (all other windows and tabs) every single time. Since asking for the ban to be lifted though now it just freezes the java application at the first frame of loading screen. I found it used to lag a tonne also due to multiple java applications being run while I was only connected to the one server for some reason. I would find my computer lagging horribly, ctrl+alt+del and find I had 3-4 java processes using 20-22% of my CPU each. Ending a few of them would speed everything up fine, although if I ended the one that I was actually using it would obviously end my session on the server.
For some reason this has stopped now also (still can't connect to the Ocean server though). I don't know if Notch patched something or anything. I just know that (because I can't actually find a way to disconnect from a server without just hitting the home button) it used to rack up my processes when I would join another server, except now apparently home is ending them. Which is useful, but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing that problem (It's one of the reasons so many people were experiencing lag I think, that this solution is more likely than changing fog levels if this lag is out of the ordinary, and if there's any need to bring it to Notch's attention) or if it was an issue that has already been patched.

Hope you guys like it as much as we do, thanks Notch for adding Glass and Sponge

PM me with your IP if you are still banned.
Yeah I get that too, really annoying :/
I know op's tend to ban people with random numbers/letters as names, because they're usually just griefers.
Seriously, how did you even FIND it?
