Now, bearing in mind that this content is well over a year or 2 away. My question is, is iit feasible for the 1.11 shulker box to come to console? The devs are already struggling with other entities as it is. Mostly due to pre-gen limits. However, I must think that even if the shulker box is added, it will need to be limited to how many can exsist in a world at one time.
For those who do not know what a shullker box is, it's a new type of chest that will store contents even after being broken. Essentially, it's a backpack. The irony I suppose is that we are painfully close to getting them... Yet it will be dragged out and not be implemented until late next year to mid 2018. Yet, I wonder if the shulker box will simply not be added, considering 4J might deem it too OP for console players.
Wolfhusband, you are a riot. This made me seriously LOL. I do not understand why they wont let the current gen consoles have their own set of limits and let the last gen have their own hobbling limits. I feel your pain, as terrain gen is garbage on current gen and that's STILL not fixed. At some point the weight on the last gen consoles will become too much and it will fold like a cheap lawn chair.
If you think about the way survival was updated this past year (hardly at all) they drug their feet with any updates. I'm scared to think of how long it will take to get shulker boxes.
Markasparagus, I am pretty new to mincrafthe and was wondering about the shulker boxes for xbox 360. I think I am being impatient but have we got the shulker boxes out on console? I know a lot of people ask this question I am just wondering.
Shulker boxes are so much more then that, imagine if you will a double chest full of shulkers, inside each shulker is a mix and match of well anything. One can if they so choose design a system to not only insert items into these shulkers, but also to search them for some specific item(s). Its not the fastest method in the world but it can be fully automatic.
Shulkers are unique in that one can place them into the world via dispensers, then manipulate whats inside via hoppers, and; when your done with them simply turn the shulker back into a entity by pushing or pulling it with a piston, suck it up via a hopper and store it back into a chest.
Furthermore as godlessmunkey mentioned above one can place them within enderchests, these are a great way to increase portable storage, now you can have access to all your building blocks as needed, and can color code and keep things organized, such as redstone products in a read shulker box, wood products in a brown, stone in a grey, clay and wool in some other color, ect.
Don't kid yourself shulkers would have been a great addition to have, and I'm saddened that we haven't got them yet. The same goes for observer blocks.
