i don't know how (or why) game developers do this so consistantly with games, its one thing to have bugs with new aspects of the game (IE horses whenever they get added) but to bug up parts of the game that didn't have problems before thats another issue entirely... first of all i lost diamonds, 30 levels, a few tools (buckets holding lava) disappearing, auto-save not disabling EVEN after its been disabled via "disable auto-save"... but atleast the draw distance is better trouble is the bugs are no-wehere near worth the gain of enhanced draw distance.
unfortunately because of the nature of these bugs even restarting from scratch would be futile, which i would loathe to do to do anyways...
as it stands the fact that this was sent off for certification as is AND was actually certified as is shows an astounding indifference to the notion of quality of control by both parties.
and might i ask what was wrong with the old auto-save function which seemed flawless, that someone would even want to risk screwing that part of the game up? you want some plaster to make Michealangelo's David better too? (just incase anyone doesn't get the inferrence Micheal, Michealangelo's David is a masterpiece and doesn't need to be made "better", much like the previous rendition of auto-save).
The 360 worlds are pretty buggy right now. I lost all of my inventory also, and a few other things. But starting a new world from scratch makes the game much less so. The only bug is the auto save having to be changed every time you load a world.
The new auto save is seem less, and doesn't stop you in the middle of the game, which is an improvement from the 360, but the bugs do hinder it a little
i do not consider that an improvement what-so-ever, but rather a serious a systemic problem... i would prefer no auto-save at all to this garbage, as is the game is now unplayable until patched
On the plus side, there does not seem to be any limit to how many times you can reimport the 360 world. If they get the import bugs fixed (or could they be export bugs, hmmm) then you should be able to try again later and get yours stuff back.
think about ghast fireballs knocking you into lava, permanently save bugs and/or the results of those bugs, think about how hard it is to get good enchantments without having to load and reload your world dozens of times a persistence save mechanism is incompatible with this in practicallity... such a save mechanism should never exist except for perhaps a hardcore mode.... which for the record i would in no way object to.... but would want to know about before going into it.

You do know the auto save can be turned off, it just has to be done. This is a bug and should be fixed though
I personally play with auto save on, as I accept my deaths or bad enchantments, as I don't really like to manipulate the save function like that, but the choice is yours.

@USA i wouldn't have to "manipulate" the save at all, if not for the enchanting process being teadious and the bugs in the game... the previous auto-save fuction worked great, you could even adjust how frequently it auto-saved... this persistant auto-save feature is utter crap, the game would be better off without it entirely unless the plan on getting rid of exploding fireballs, creepers and make the enchantment process so that you actually pick the enchantments you get, and if they got rid of every other bug the game has that would have its result saved as a result.... this auto-save feature was simply not thought through at all.
i don't both enchanting non-diamond equipment so accepting bad enchantment 95-99% of the time is simply not accpetable.
I've had a few people mention disliking the new auto-save feature, I'll bring this up with the team.
Unfortunately bugs will always exist - A game as complex and with so many possibilities as Minecraft makes it increasingly more difficult to keep bug free with each update, We really are blessed with such an awesome community though who help us track them down :).

the only place game mode a save feature like this should EVER be found is in "hardcore" modes, the old auto-save was vastly superior and allowed more control over the game.
to keep the save as it is would necessitate removing or chnaging so many aspects of the game (creepers/ghasts/blazes enchanting, naturally found deathtraps ect.) that it just wouldn't be worth the time, effort, nor the money that everyone paid for it (in many cases twice via the upgrade) which would further diminish the game which many people already find limited...
i equate changing the auto-save with with trying to restore a masterpiece of art that was already in perfect condition... the only result that can exist is a degradation. there is a reason for the phrase "if its not broke, don't fix it", its becasue you CAN'T fix something thats not broke... you can change it sure... but ithen its wont be the masterpiece it was... the previous auto-save was variableyou could disable it. now its not variable and you can't properly disalbe it, and the only way to correct this problem it to re-import your world and lose ALL progress that was done on the 360... i ask you what improvement is there?, i only see downside to this (aside from a furture hardcore mode possibly, that would be akin to trunrning a lemon into lemonade)
as far as improving the auto-save they are 0 and 3 with a batting average of 0.000
i ask you why would you want every mistake and bug saved anyways...its... illogical... virtually all people reget things or wish they could done something differently... this is the one medium (games) where that is virtually always possible (aside from games that have hardcore modes, and even most of them don't have such a strict,, persistant auto-save.

I completely agree with you. ^
