I know this might not happen but im thinking this might be possible because its getting boring with a classic size worlds so im suggesting that should the PS3/X360 should get small/medium worlds so we can just get bigger worlds a bit (not bigger lol) if only 4j Studios dont get like 12 months just to make a big update i know this might be possible because i see other games like far cry, skyrim, gta V and other open world etc...(this games only have like small amount of lags) but why mc on PS3/X360 sufer on frame drop issues!? they kindly be poorly optimised in the old consoles or what?...i would want to see this feature if only impossible if 4j would do a better work.. anyone agree with me? lol
360 and ps3 are pretty much maxed out. As it is, our worlds get pretty laggy once you build them out even on our small worlds. I can't remember where the threads were, but I'm positive I've seen 4J Steve mention a few times that there are no plans to give bigger worlds to the older systems.

One thing to consider when talking about different games having much larger maps than Minecraft console is depth. What other game lets you dig into the surface of the map and create tunnels of your own? The Minecraft map is made up of chunks. Each chunk is 16 x 16 x 256 or a total of 65,536 blocks per chunk.
The game has to know what each and every block in the chunk is (is it air, or dirt, or coal ore, or diamond ore, etc.) I know there are some amazing algorithms in the code that keeps track of every block in the world and only loads what it needs to, but that is still a lot of maintenance! The current world download for the Mumbocraft server that I play on (this is a PC Edition world) is about 16 gigabytes in size. Yes there are a lot of people on that server, but it takes some serious resources to run that world.
Games with huge maps like GTA are pretty much flat as far as the map is concerned. What I mean is that it is fixed and cannot be changed. You cannot dig a hole into the ground. If there is something on the map that gets destroyed like lamp posts, the next time you drive by there they are back. The game doesn't have to keep track of as much so it can give you a bigger map to explore since it is pretty much unchangeable.
Honestly, the 360 and PS3 are doing great with what resources they have. But if you really want bigger maps, the only way around that is to upgrade to something other than a 360 or PS3.
Minecraft PC Edition: $27
Minecraft Windows 10 Edition: $10 - or free if you already own the PC edition
Minecraft Pocket Edition: $7
All three of these will give you unlimited map sizes.
Minecraft Xbox One edition (and PS4 Edition) will give you a map size up to 36 times bigger than the last generation consoles. There are people who own the Xbox One or PS4 editions that are screaming that even map sizes that big are not enough and they want unlimited map sizes. 4J just can't win with either the last gen or current gen console owners.

probably not possible, sense that the x360 and ps3 are not strong enough to handle that big of a world
i know but small worlds is that possible i see many games that are open world but why not minecraft?
