I won't be surprised if there aren't mods, not by a long shot. Having said that, I've been getting most of my updates from the Minecraft Wiki, and it says on the 360 Edition article that Mods are coming "much later" or something... It does have a citation, but it's to the Facebook page, and I'm too lazy to spend an hour or three looking for a post mentioning mods on there.

yeah i saw that yesterday looking to see what the differences would be
Well in my opinion. Mods for Minecraft via Xbox would be utterly pointless considering they have instilled a "Leader Boards" menu for around the world competition. Haveing mods would ruin this system they are started and I don't them changing it any time soon. However I do hear that there will be skins to choose from and texture packs? I look forward to seeing how they do that as DLC.
I think the reason all (or at least almost all) of Valve game DLC's on 360 cost money is because Microsoft requires any DLC that adds achievements to have a price tag.

Well, if it comes down to Leaderboards vs. Mods, I would pick Mods. 100%. I could care LESS if someone's 'better than me at Minecraft'. It's MINECRAFT. Why are there even leaderboards to START with? xD I honestly don't see the point, I'm sorry.
And as for that poll... there's no 'Heartbroken' option. D: After playing and server hosting since beta, sure, Vanilla Minecraft is fun... but after a while, it becomes extremely bland. I and my users love the variety mods bring to Minecraft. It's rather like giving someone a choice of a cookie... or a cookie with icing. Sure, a plain old cookie, is great, and you'll eat it, but if you're given a choice, you know you'd pick that cookie with icing.

NO MODS ARE YOU JOKING...... I can't even have the mods that add challenging things to the game(like yogbox) this sucks. PC verison is much better now and I can't stand this I don't think there is a reason to put minecraft on a multi-platform basis ,I love it on pc vanilla and all but I love seeing people add new blocks and tools it makes the game keep a long lasting appeal. If there is no custom maps either I will stick to pc version of minecraft because the controls are better and I have lots of RAM on my computer so it seems a wiser choice for me to stick to computer. And yes I have played the xbox version and it looks ok, BUT NO MODS is just the deal breaker in this situtation for me. Happy mining
I laugh at the people who say minecraft is boring without mods. These people, I beleive, aren't true Minecrafters. Whats the point of liking a game, if the only reason you like it is because it is changed or modified in some way that it is not meant to be played?
Same Here
I agree, i find the game no fun with mods, the whole part of the game is to have a challenge to find supplies you need in order to progress further and bulid better
I've already told people about that it would be impossible to put mods in minecraft. No other game for the Xbox supports mods. If you want mods then get a PC game. That is one of the reasons people get PC games. Mojang doesn't have better technology than anybody else. If there is gonna be mods your gonna have to jailbreak it.

Don't quote me on that, I'm not entirely sure.

So they went to sony for ps3 and they said "lol sure"
Ps3 has no issues with ingame mods, not sure why xbox has other ideas..
Once that comes out you can be sure people will make mods you just have to wait.
