I'd love for someone to name one.... just one... other XBox game that allows user-created mods. Anybody?
We may get some of the features of popular PC mods, either as a DLC, or just incorporated into an update (prolly DLC). Rest assured, however, that MS will never, ever, ever, ever allow us to "mod" Minecraft, or any other XBox game for that matter. Anything (if anything) we get along these lines is going to come from 4J, through the MS approval process.
To be honest, I think we might get minor mods like the Timber, Elemental Creepers, and Baby Creepers but not major mods like the Aether, Pony, and Ruin Mods.
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
No mods? Okay, can we please have downloadable adventure maps??? If its against Xbox Live's ToS and 4J won't give us them what the hell kind of DLC content are gonna get besides skin packs?
I don't want mods on Xbox, it just seems weird. It would never be allowed anyway, because you can't exactly mod console games legally. Texture packs ARE confirmed though, which I think is pretty cool. It wil most likely be texture packs created by 4J though, and not community-made like PC ones.

Personally I dont know why people need mods. I would like texture packs, but could live without those too. If you want the PC version you should buy it. Just my opinion.
I Figured Mods wouldn't be availible. I wish I had a Computer because I have PC and 360 edition of minecraft.
When I First found out minecraft would be on xbox I was super excited. I couldn't wait. then it was released.. I was happy to start. but first thing I noticed was how far behind pc edition it was and It didn't bother me too much because it would be updating and so that was cool. then I started playing... My biggest disapointment with minecraft PC isn't that its behind in what version is being released it isn't Not being able to have my own skin (though it would have been nice. My skin is no nockoff of anything. its me in pixel form.) it wasn't not having the ability to customize your texture pack. and it wasn't even the weird auto crafting thing they got going. I personally like putting the items in the crafting interface myself and crafting my items rather than just picking what I want from a list and thats it. all of that I could deal with it was fine and still fun. but OUCH when I realized an invisible wall blocking my path as I started exploring and looking for a cool place to build and set up camp. then I went all around the map and my god its SOOo small. I about stopped playing but I dealt with it at first but then the updates came new items new buildings new features randomly generated villages mineshafts and strongholds I found my self NEEDing to create a new world almost every time I wanted to explore or get some new features that were added and then looking for a world that had all the biomes and all of the random gen buildings. and now with several new biomes in the pc version yet to come to 360 you just CAN'T get a really good map with a good balance of resources. I RAN OUT OF SAND FOR GODS SAKES in one of my worlds but as frusterating as it was only having about 40 blocks of sand left in all of my world I built a sand Generator using redstone and pistons. phew disaster everted but wait BAM not that doesn't work now what am I going to do for sand. the world size is just stupidly small without giving something in return to balance it out. having working generators that would duplicate certain blocks kept me in the game for a minute. but I just can't keep playing the 360 edition like this. its nice to start a new world once in a while but not Everytime you need something and need to start all over again. Biggest Disapointment for me was the size of the world and no way to get resources from other worlds and carry them to an old one. NOW there is hope though I doubt they will do it but a chest like the enderchest but works based on the profile not the game save that would allow you to make a new world gather some much needed resources stash them in this new chest, save game. load old save access this new chest and bam got new resources in old world but heh I'm dreaming now. I'm going to have to stick with PC version if I can ever get a new computer.
I love minecraft even vanilla so no mods no big deal. but I just can't stay interested in the 360 edition long enough to complete any Major projects cause I know I'll have to keep creating a new world. I can't wait for hopper daylight sensors, redstone comparitors and droppers. their are some small cool projects that I could interest myself in for a few months when those come out but I still play the 360 edition but its no fun for me I just do it because its the only minecraft I have access to atm. can't wait to get a computer.
Love the 4J Studios for bringing me my minecraft for my xbox but I think the size of the worlds was a big no no. I hope they keep up the good work and hopefully who knows maybe one of them will see this message or one like it and think "Hey being able to transport items from one save world to a new save world might be a cool thing to impliment" hah yeah right that would make my day if something like that was done. but its not.
Love the game love 4J Studios but really sad about the world size its the heartbreaker for me.
1- Nothing like digging up a 2 year old thread.
2- You hated MS and Sony for it. Their house- their rules. Mojang doesn't do console versions, 4J does.
3- Doesn't matter if mods are doable or not. They haven't happened in years and they won't ever happen on consoles. Sheesh, get over it people.
Ok technically it would no longer be a mod once they made it and sold it it would be DLC. I've seen many that think you are not true minrcrafter and what ever if you get bored. Well since this post started I've seen less and less on the game which makes it dicourageing to play. The reason is for me I have a world that have almost anything I could ever want and it gets repetive a mod would be a change of pace since I have done this for a few years now.

Also They have said it would be possible with the new consoles so there's hope.

That's what I've been saying: DLC and updates are 'mods'.... and therefore you shouldn't get "bored" and you'll still be a "true minecrafter" even though you've "done this for a few years now". There is no difference between an 'update' and a 'mod'. (Well, except for two things- everyone gets it so you aren't 'special', and updates don't let you cheat.)
If you have to have "mods" to keep from getting "bored", there's the PC version. Or (gasp!) there really are other MC-like games out there, and some of them are pretty good.
Also They have said it would be possible with the new consoles so there's hope.
Not with the way MS's and Sony's TOS is written. As far as I know "they" (4J) have never said mods are possible on consoles. Gotta link?

Not. Going. To. Happen.
Must we continue to beat this dead horse?
I only use caps to show the difference.
And for people who will reply to with "Why!?", it's because Microsoft will NEVER allow it, it's like user created skins...
exactly that is why i play on the pc and never look at the xbox 360 edition
