Hello, I wanted to play with the child together, on the Wii Pro Controller has a problem with analog sticks. I thought it was broken, but in other games works fine. Read comments in the community, I saw that the other player has the same problem
when playing together wii u pro controller not work fine, you can not walk around and watch Steve is normal
Same problem here! We do not own any Wii U Pro Controllers so I bought the PDP Afterglow Pro Controller. Sticks were only moving down and left. Replaced with another one...same problem. Was about to go out to return this one too but then I found this thread, so I assume that Mojang or 4J will come up with a fix and I'll hang tight for a little bit.
Same problem here. I bought Mincraft Wii U assuming I could play with my daughter, discovered the controller requirements (great job there Mojang! grrrrrr....), bought a PDP Afterglow controller because I wasn't prepared to fork out 40 quid for an official one, and then encountered this issue
Does anyone know if the issue has been reported. Strangely the diagonals work, but on both left and right sticks directly up = down, and directly right = left. So annoying!!!!

Just to be clear, does using the official Wii U Pro Controller work alright? We bought it specifically for Minecraft (although it'll be nice to not have to use the mock-up controller for Splatoon anymore), so I'm gonna be bummed if it doesn't work.
For what it's worth ... I never buy 3rd party controllers. They never last as long or work as well as the official ones.
Same here - got this for my kids as a christmas present. Does not work with Nyko Pro Commander (3rd party pro controller). Both analog sticks are messed up. No issues with any other games. Very disappointing. Hope it can be fixed soon...
As a side note, i see zero reason why this game shouldn't be able to work with the classic controller too.
I am also having the same problem but with an afterglow controller i almost broke it then decided to test it in smash bros and its working wonderfully so its gotta be a bug that needs to be fixed.
Having same problem, bought the game for my son as a Christmas gift, he loves when I can play games with him, went and bout the third party controller and it does not react properly, so disappointed! Only reiterating, with hopes that more complaints will inspire a fix!
came across the problem myself, trying to move the camera about. i can get it to work if i move it slightly and slowly, but trying to jerk it has me immediately looking down at the ground. it's rather annoying and has me going back to play the PC version... least for a while

The official Wii U Pro controllers work fine. I just bought 2 of them and they both work for multiplayer split screen, so we can have 3 players locally.
Nintendo does not support unlicensed products...They dont test any of their official products with unlicensed products to ensure a bug free experience.
I used to work at a call center for Nintendo consumer service and I dealt with issues like what you guys are experiencing all the time. The only thing I could do to help was to refer them to the manufacturer that produced the unlicensed product and recommend that they go buy a licensed product that has been tested and supported by Nintendo. You can call them up now and I'll bet they tell you the same thing
From what i've read, pretty much all of you guys that are having issues are using an unlicensed 3rd party pro controller and one other post saying the official pro controller works just fine.
Whether Nintendo supports 3rd part controller is irrelevant; I'm not expecting Nintendo to fix this - they didn't even develop it. I'm puzzled by how Mojang managed to get controllers that works fine for every other game to not function correctly in Minecraft. I'm developing a game for WiiU that supports Pro controllers, and i can assure you that 3rd party controllers (well, the Nyko one at least) should *just work*, you don't have to provide any extra support, or code anything differently. I have no idea how Mojang managed to mess up here, but they seem to have done it. I know they are not legally/contractually obliged to, but it would be nice if they fixed it.
I have the same problem. The pro controllers work with every game I have... accept Minecraft. Up is down, Right is left, Down is down, Left is left. It sounds like the problem on Micrsoft's (owner of Mojang) end. Thanks Microsoft you buy Minecraft then screw it up. Lets just add this to the long list of things Microsoft has bought out and screwed up.
I know it's short notice but is there any update on when this will be fixed? My wife and I were really looking forward to playing it and we just came across this issue. Really hate to have to buy another controller for just one game.
@padware - Same here, thanks for promising to fix it, I currently have an 11 year old and a 15 year old waiting patiently after Father Christmas brought them the game.
Santa then dashed out the next day minus his reindeer and brought the PDP Afterglow controllers after realising they were needed and the game was only useable on the Gamepad as a single player.......
Then the PDP Afterglow controllers behaved as a law unto themselves and Santa retired to his Grotto muttering under his breath, and it did not sound much like "Ho, Ho, Ho."
My son and daughter are also having this issue and the controller is the official Wii U Pro controller. I have looked at trying to contact Mojang and Nintendo about this but it is not evident how you go about this - an email would be fine - but I will keep looking. Does anyone have ETA for it to be fixed as asked by James4204
What exactly is the problem that you are having? Are the controllers' analogs messed up so much that you can't play? Or are you just having trouble connecting for a multiplayer game?
Official Nintendo Pro controllers and remotes do not work at all in my experience.
My son was playing a game that he was controlling with the gamepad and viewing on the TV. My attempts to join the game with any other controller were unsuccessful. Switching the game's display location had no effect.
I know it is not an error on the Pro controller side, because I am able to bring up the Wii U home screen and navigate using it.
I thought that maybe if I started the game with the Pro controller, he would be able to join with another pro controller and/or the gamepad. However, neither the pro controller or remote worked at all. I couldn't get past the first menu screen.
Again, all of these controllers are official Nintendo.

Remotes don't work at all, so don't even bother trying.
Beyond that, remember that you have to playing in HD to be able to do multiplayer as well. If you're TV set-up isn't done to play in HD mode, you can't get it to work no matter what controllers you have or how you try.
If you continue to have problems and KNOW that you are in HD mode and have followed the step-by-step that I made and linked earlier, then all that's left is to contact tech support at 4J Studios or Mojang.
I have followed the instructions listed but it does not allow us to add additional player .. There are no messages displayed
we are playing in offline mode?
For whatever reason, I'm getting the idea that maybe you're trying to add additional players before you even load the world. That doesn't work. You can only add additional players once you have a world loaded and in operation using the GamePad. THEN follow the steps to add the other player.
As I mentioned above, you also MUST be playing in HD mode. So check all of that as well.

Alright, I understood a lot of you have the same problem but why don't you post this on the suggestions?

Well dang, i tossed away a good controller then... thought it was broke...

We're back from holiday now, and will fix this issue.
Thank you for the response!

Adrian.
Do you think you could give an estimation date for when the problem would be fixed?
