I've searched this forum and Googled everywhere but I can't find my exact issue anywhere, so I'm posting it here.
It seems to happen at random, but every once in a while, an error message pops up saying "Minecraft has encountered a problem and cannot continue. Would you like to save?" If I press "Yes," the game goes to the save screen and hangs. The game tips keep loading and the background keeps scrolling, but the status bar never moves. I have to go into the playstation menu and exit the game, which causes my playstation to restart. If I press "Cancel" when it asks if I want to save, it goes to the Exiting Game screen, and the same hanging issue occurs, again causing my playstation to restart.
I can't pinpoint what is triggering this issue. It has happened when I've saved the game manually, it has happened when it autosaved, it has happened when I enter or exit the Nether, it has happened after 15 minutes of playing, it has happened after 3 hours of playing, it has happened when I've kicked a player from the game, it has happened when I've been standing in one spot doing absolutely nothing. It seems to happen completely at random.
This is especially aggravating because I like to keep my game running to operate a 24/7 "server," but if it crashes while I'm sleeping or working, the other players are just screwed until I can restart the server again.
Has anyone else encountered this or does anyone have a fix?
Wow it's been a while since you posted this and you've gotten also of views but this glitch seems to only happen on PlayStation and has something to do with how it saves the game, there isn't necessarily any fixes but you can put auto save on for about everyfifteen minutes. The patterns go like this. Gives error when you've been playing for more than 4 randomly and the session kinda expires. When you've been playing for about 4 hours and haven't saved at all till really late. So saving kinda helps keep you safe a while longer but it's inevitable and will more likely come the longer and longer you play
