So I have a redstone rail system that has multiple loading stations. Chest mine cart picks up from auto farms and my animal area, then goes to my "kitchen" spot where it unloads into a auto sorting system. After it unloads here it then goes up to my main house area where I have another unloading-auto sorting system, which is where I have all of my other items besides food, and also goes down to my mine. What I am trying to do is have the cart drop off food items into the sorter then pick up left over items from the overflow chest(like wool, leather, feathers, wood) and bring those up to my main sorter.
I have thought about making a timer so after the cart unloads in the kitchen it will stop for a certain about of time to allow the items to be sorted. Extra items will go into the overflow chest and then the cart will stop there pick those up and continue on its way. I haven't actually timed it yet but if it's a full chest, I'm thinking it would take minutes to sort. So I would need a redstone clock timer that wouldn't allow the cart to move for minutes. Which would take a crap load of repeaters and a crap load of space. I have tried putting the cart into spider webs and it takes about 15ish seconds for it to move threw 2 so i would need a CRAP LOAD of webs and that's just silly. There has to be a way to do this that is simple and I'm just not seeing it. Please help! Im playing on survival on my ps3. But I also have a separate map on creative to mess with redstone.
I've also found that my drop off stations aren't sending the minecart after it loads. The stations are set to the side of the track instead of the end. The powered rail is activated and the cart just sits there.... 😑
