Well I'd treat a llama in Minecraft as they are in real life. They aren't mounts, but they make decent pack animals so we could attach a chest to them. Some people eat llamas, so they could drop meat. Llamas are also used as guard animals for sheep herds, so they could be used to fight wolves. If they also added alpacas they could use them as an alternate source for wool. They could make a special wool type specific to alpacas as well, but I don't know what that would be useful for. My way of getting llamas and alpacas would be to tame wild guanacos and vicuñas respectively. It would be the same way you'd tame an ocelot essentially.

Agreed. Also, its llama, not lama. On the note of camelids why not just add all six of 'em? We need camels and vicuñas too.
