So I already put lights on both of my blaze spawners but I never did any monster farming. I seen a few blaze farming videos but those were mostly for the pc. So I'm not sure whats workable on the console. so whats the best and safe way to farm blazes?
This is the best way that I've found that works on both PC and PS3. Hopefully I can explain without confusing anyone. You will need 8 pieces of cobblestone for this. You also need to be quick and ready to run until you get this set up (and/or have sufficient armor to take a few blaze blasts)...
Normally, the blaze spawners are outside rather than in a room like the other spawners. This makes it both time consuming and dangerous to enclose the area. You also have to account for the fact that you can't use water. What you need to do is rely on the fact that while the blaze 'float', they also tend to drift down. Their spawners are also at the top of a set of stairs. So here is what you do:
At the bottom of the stairs, under the nether brick fencing, enclose the opening with your 8 pieces of cobblestone being sure to leave the center bottom spot open. This should leave a 1 block gap between the bottom step and your wall. Dig down 1 block in the gap and 1 block in a line on your side of the wall (a total of 4 blocks dug out). And that's it!
Stand in the gap under your wall and wait for the blaze to come to you. Dodge backwards, into the trench you made, to avoid the blaze attacks. A simple iron sword with sharpness 1 will easily get you several dozen blaze rods. Keep a pick and an extra piece of cobble on your hotbar next to your sword. On occasion you will not be able to reach the rod that the blaze drops. Just wait for a lull in the action and QUICKLY: mine out the block in front of you, dart forward, jump (if needed), dodge back, and replace the block you just mined out.
Since this is a 4 way junction, you may want to seal up the other three openings, and place a door in the one you use to go back. I recommend using a metal door with a stone button on the outside and a stone pressure plate on the inside. Good luck and happy farming.

Birds stop chirping. The wind dies down. Somewhere, a man is drinking a cup of coffee. He freezes, with the cup at his lips.
