Hi, I’ve recently had a problem that concrete powder keeps turning white randomly when I fly somewhere and come back. The blocks are on top of pistons which are hooked up to a daylight sensor, and I had this issue within the spawn chunks and outside of them (I don’t know if the spawn chunks work the same as in the Java edition). Any help?
There are no spawn chunks in console edition. The powder turns white because the metadata is lost somewhere. Which usually means the pistons are unloading during extensions/retractions and then when re-loaded the metadata is reset to default because it is stored as block 36 and not as concrete powder. If you turn this contraption off before leaving the area this won't happen. Theres no sense in leaving it on anyways, as it just gets unloaded.
You should also be made aware of a bug that exists in all console versions. If you push a non gravity effected block in the same gametick as the chunks are unloaded there is a small chance that the piston or the blocks attached to it will become glitched. It will turn invisible have no hitbox, and cause suffocation damage, you will not be able to place any other kind of block in that space. There is no verified way of getting rid of these blocks either, tnt used to do it but a couple updates ago 4j changed tnt so that it cannot destroy block 36. Withers won't even remove them.
Thanks, I’ll add a lever to those pistons. I didn’t have one because I used the daylight sensor to make a clock (to see if it’s night or day, not a redstone clock) out of it.
