Baldur, I have a question for you in regards to the villages on this seed! Besides the one near spawn, have any others that have been found/reported contain a blacksmith at all?
I'm in the process of constructing an Iron Farm and just added more doors with single blocks (houses) to the village near spawn so they would breed like rabbits and currently transporting them by rail to their new homes at the farm. I just don't want to take the Blacksmith away from his place as I trade with him a fair bit and don't want to sacrifice him. So far unfortunately all the young haven't turned out to be Blacksmiths, all I've managed to get is Butchers, Fletcher's, Sheppard's, Farmer, Fisherman's and Librarian.

I usually just transport 2 villagers and then let them breed on site. The parents of children do not affect the type of villager you get. So you could have 2 librarians breed and still get every type of villager. With the new update I have been doing most of my trading with just a few villagers.
If a village has a blacksmith I list that with the village if I'm the one that found it. But that doesn't change or affect villager breeding. With the spawn village on Golden Apple I just put double doors up where all single doors were and then new buildings I build, like a mineshaft entrance, I place double doors on every side so new builds typically have 8 doors.
If you kill villagers iron golems get mad and it may affect trading so I use a bucket of lava and pour it on unwanted villagers. The villager burns and it doesn't anger the golems.

Thanks for your reply,
Yes I was aware that you could still get every possible villager from any two villagers, also thanks for the lava tip. Only because I do a bit of trading with said Blacksmith I was just curious as to know whether or not if there were others or not as I didn't want him sent away as it's easier to trade with him at his own village. I was going to just transport two but wanted to breed a lot more as I'm making about two to three farms, so I can send them straight to them and get on with the collection process without waiting for them to get it on lmao!
Anyway thanks again for the reply and happy Minecrafting!
First I would try to figure out what happened. Did zombies kill them? To get more villagers you can cure a zombie villagers, or use a rail line to move a few villagers to the village.

I used a seed from an older update and I didn't realize it didn't had any villages or temples! !
And I already had a lot of equipment, resources, a huge house and stuff. Sucks that I have to scrape it all and start again.
Any help is appreciated. And would it be better to have this seed on a large map? I had it on classic before, the old seed that is.
Welcome. First this is THE seed for the latest update TU31. All coordinates and information listed at the beginning works with the large size map. For your convenience at the bottom of the coordinate list on the first page is the same seed in the classic size map. The classic size has more villages and the biomes are basically the same but the coordinates are not the same. If you want to play on this seed building a city for the next 2 years you may want to start with the classic size then after a year (or a couple of updates with new biomes) you can resize the map to the medium with hopes of getting new biomes and then after more updates you can go to the large size. Any areas you explore will remain the same even after updates but if you tried starting the map new after an update it will be different. You can make the map bigger in the furute if you start with a smaller map but you can not make it smaller. Smaller map sizes means you will have fewer biomes.

The villagers near spawn all disappeared. How do I go about getting a village going again when the nearest village is a long way off?
First I would try to figure out what happened. Did zombies kill them? To get more villagers you can cure a zombie villagers, or use a rail line to move a few villagers to the village.

What's the closest village to a ocean temple? thinking of draining the temple and placing villagers afterwards
Will this seed work with the current update?
Sorry I'm new to minecraft.
My son and nephew just got me playing 3 days ago.
I used a seed from an older update and I didn't realize it didn't had any villages or temples! !

Do you happen to know where the nearest ocean temple to land is located?
Ocean temples are in deep ocean so typically not close to land or a village but here is one pretty close, about 450 blocks away.

Thanks i have enough railroads to travel the distance in survival
Thank you for the help. I really appreciate it.
It's fun to finally get into this.
After seeing my son and nephew play all the time I just had to jump in hahaha.
I will take the advise and start with classic size. A large map will be too overwhelming for a beginner like me.
