i just started this survival island seed that i found a while back, and i have noticed that there are NO animals on the map. There is one large grassy island, several mushroom islands, and one or two very small grassy islands.
There are no sheep, cows, pigs, or chickens anywhere to be seen on any of the islands.
Does anyone know if there is a way to force spawn animals or make a spawn area for them? I have looked at some other peoples posts who have used this seed and they have not gotten a conclusion on this... One guy apparently even made a large flat area out of dirt that goes over the water, and he still had no luck...
Regardless of there being a few grassy islands, survival island seeds are generally ocean biomes and animals will not spawn in ocean biomes, period.
On the Xbox, sometimes you will encounter survival island seeds with bits of other biomes adjacent to the ocean one along the fringes of the map. Look for dark swampy water with lily pads or frozen bits of water. In these areas, if you build grassy islands that are larger than 1 chunk square, animals can start spawning... but the key is that the area where you build your land must not actually be ocean biome. Within the ocean biome, you can build all the grass land you want and animals will not spawn on it.
I used this seed on one of my creative maps, and i know where a jungle biome is that is under the water. So it is not all "ocean biome", but there are other biomes covered with water as well. Do cows, sheep, and pigs spawn in jungle? If they can i may have just found the solution.
Otherwise, perhaps i could get on that creative world and look for some biomes under the ocean that could spawn animals, and refer to that on my survival world.
Been on this seed for a couple of hours trying to help you find a natural spawn area and so far no luck. You might consider cheating- go in in creative and build a fenced area, spawn a few animals, and name them with name tags. They won't despawn if they are named. I have about 20 animals that all are named NTag that have been here for 3 minecraft days and none have despawned yet. Just remember to fence them so they can't get out and drown. Hope this helps.

Not sure what you're getting at here. If generated in the same TU, it should make absolutely no difference in creative mode or survival mode what terrain generates. If your survival world was generated in a later TU and the location of your creative world's jungle is now under water, it means the biomes shifted between the two updates and your jungle is now most likely an ocean biome. Biome shift happens between some of the updates (when they add new biomes). Regardless of how the terrain in an old world appears, the weather AND spawning patterns become those of the later update. In survival island seeds, the best way to tell if a different biome actually exists is to look for ice, lily pads or swampy colored water. It is next to impossible to spot a jungle, forest, or plains biome that has no land to it since the water color is the same for all of those. If you're lucky enough to have some grassy islands that aren't ocean biome islands, the grass color can sometime allow you to identify a plain, forest, hills or desert biome and then enlarge the island to be larger than 1 chunk.
The biomes specific animals spawn natural in can be found listed n the Wiki (i.e. on the page for that particular animals). Generally, the 4 main passive animals (cows, pigs, sheep and chickens) will spawn in everything but ocean biomes and deserts. The chickens usually don't last long in jungles because ocelots kills them and wolves will often kill of the sheep in forest and taiga biomes. Even very small jungle islands will generally spawn with some jungle trees on them.
The creative and survival worlds are two different saves. They just use the same seed. I made the creative world first and discovered the jungle biome was under water on it. It will be on the same place in my survival world as well.
How i found the jungle was when i was placing grass dirt blocks in that area to make a new island in creative and discovered very green grass, which was jungle grass. That is why i know this is a jungle biome. Why there was no land in it to begin with i don't know. It is in a very shallow part of the ocean, which is why i found it suitable to make an island there.
There are a few other shallow spots like this across the map that may hold biomes that are not Ocean. I
have not gotten back on the world today but i will check soon and let you guys know if there are other biomes, and if they spawn animals.
So i went to the supposed jungle biome and built a 24 x 24 grass square over it. No animals spawned.
Come to find out, the same green grass in what i thought was a jungle biome, is the same color as the grass in mushroom biomes when i placed grass in them... So the "jungle biome" that i discovered, is not a jungle, and is likely a mushroom biome... This means that animals will not spawn here..........
I looked all over the map for other biomes with no luck. It is all Ocean and Mushroom bioms.
On a side note, does anyone know of any other survival island seeds for the 360? Preferably one that can spawn animals... Id rather not use creative mode to get the animals, as it feels like cheating to me..

OK, I see now where I misread your other post. Thanks and sorry for my confusion (My vision issues have been flaring up lately, so I'm not reading things well right now.)
There is another thread currently running here that is asking the same question - a survival island seed with animals. I suggested two TU16 seeds that I know of since I don't think the biomes shifted between TU16 and TU19. Both of them have islands along the edges that have some trees though and one even has a village. This makes them a little easier than the classic survival island with only 1 tree on the map... Please let me know if they generate in TU19 pretty much as described (I'm waiting until after the bug fix come out before I actually update to TU19):
1) "blarg" (no quotes) - spawn on an "S" shaped island that is a hills biome near spawn and a taiga biome on the far end of it. Beyond that island are only some mushroom islands and tiny grass islands on the map.
2) "-Apollo 13" (no quotes) - spawn on a large, tall mushroom island within sight of another mushroom island and a couple of grass islands. As you approach either, a small jungle will come into sight. This medium sized island is jungle on one end and plains and forest on the other with a small village in the plains area. There is another small forest island in the upper right-hand corner of the map and a largish desert island just to the left of the center of the map.
I looked both of them over in creative. There may be more than one tree, but it is better than having no animals. The terrain will still be challenging to navigate, so it is essentially what i wanted. i like having more than one wood type anyways
