I got something to add to the part about making one sided polls. You shouldn't make extremist left/right polls either. It's annoying to find an idea 50/50 but the only poll options are like this...
• "Best idea ever!"
• "Terrible idea. I hate everything about it. It can't be fixed and it has no form of being changed for the better. Abandon all hope please. Thanks in advance."

In my opinion, polls should only serve one purpose; guaging crowd demand/desire toward inclusion of different aspects to tweak a suggestion. Having an approvify/blammify option is redundant, unnecessary, and really unhelpful. It's just another way of saying +1 or nope, just enabling the critics to be even easier.
You get no useful information from seeing 8 "yes" or 6 "no". Any information you can use is in the body of each of the critics' posts. THEREFORE: request to suggesters: do NOT add yes/no polls to your thread, you shoot yourselves in the foot every time.

Hmm... that is a pretty decent point. Now I don't feel so good about including those types of polls in my suggestions.

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

Pretty much this. Even better, do what I did with my suggestions. First ask how much someone supports your idea, then ask if your presentation was spot on regardless if they supported or not. You get way more info and have a bigger chance of improving future suggestions.

I'm gonna have a small section on the first post containing suggestions that are not just extremely good, but contain above and beyond effort. If anyone wants to list those kinds of suggestions feel free, but please do not link to your suggestions just because you want them in the spotlight. That's not how it will work.

Want your ancient zombie / desert temple suggestion in said spotlight..?

I actually agree with most of those, especially the Deeper Caves one. Not sure about the musket one though. Would the cubic chunks and colored glass ones count in that list?

I must admit, I generally like subjects made for a more specific audience, usually map making\building tools. Either way, I would like to see some of those on there.
Maybe a good idea to make another thread that categorize some of the better suggestions, so they can find what they are interested in.
Also take a look at this guide if you are requesting builders for a server/project.
Please note, if I deny a suggestion because it is already possible, then I mean it is already possible withing 10 command blocks (That do not spawn other command blocks) or up to 5 creations (Command blocks that spawn other command blocks) to make your suggestion.
If I critique your suggestion I am not hating on you. Learn the difference.
Uhhh bad news boys. I think I hit a content limit with the first post, which means I can't add any new content to it. I don't have any other posts on that first page to dump the extra content on and I'm kinda out of ideas right now on how to circumvent this.

Holy crap... the guide reached the 120,000 character limit! Well, I guess the only possible solution may be to remove all suggestions in the Generally Hated and Inferior Ideas section that have potential to be good ideas. If not, then I don't know.

Agreed, or at the very least, remove some of the 'don't do's' in the guide that are redundant.

I figured it out and added the hall of fame thing. The following users in the hall of fame or as follows: Calacbolg, 0_Zippy,kittykattykat, Galactic_Muffin, Cerroz, Rhea_M, ThesaurusRex84, DINGO_WINTERWOLF, JasonG5 and sabata2.
Loads more to come.

That day may come. You've made good suggestions, but I'm adding ones that have the full package: images, extreme balance, beautiful presentation and formatting. Threads that might even bypass the gold medal and take the platinum one behind it.
I've thought about adding my favorites, but it's better to have the elite suggestions showcased as shining examples. To be honest, I don't even support some of the ideas in the hall of fame. For example, the musket thread. I would honestly hate to have any guns in the game, but Rhea_M managed to explain and balance the idea so good that I still couldn't help but realize how well presented and balanced it was.
He took a generally hated concept and made it work almost perfectly. In short - he beat the odds, and even went the extra mile and presented all the custom sprites too. I should probably list some specific guidelines for the hall of fame stuff soon, to help others achieve that stuff.

My Avatar is a Dalek, therefor your argument is... EXTERMINATED!!!
You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.
Popular does not necessarily mean that it fits, or it's balanced, or it's good in other senses of the word.
If you are planning to make a suggestion, please read this.
