Freezing is similar to burning in the sense that they are both possess effects, though they are not status effects. When an entity is burning, they begin to emit snow particles, and their movement and attack speeds begin to gradually slow by 50%. Also, mobs inflicted with freezing experience the same effects as they would when in contact with water. Enderman and Blazes take damage from Freezing. Freezing will wear off after awhile, or by standing near fire or a torch.
Causes of Freezing:
1. Frost Enchantment
2. Ice Aspect Enchantment
3. Standing on Ice blocks with no boots for too long.
A significant concern was that Frost Bows would render slowness arrows useless, or vice versa. However, I believe that each option possesses its own niche.
Benefits of Frost Bows:
1. Compatible with Infinity
2. Slows both movement and attack speed
3. Does extra damage to certain mobs
4. Doesn't require the constant upkeep of potions.
Benefits of Slowness arrows:
1. Inflicts a more potent slowness for longer.
2. Cannot be removed by standing near a light source.

This means that freezing does what Slowness does except that your attack speed is trolled down. Don't think I want that.

Don't think I'd want that either. Things like that make one block pointlessly annoying. It's not the worst thing ever, but I still don't see much of a point in that except to debuff the player just because. We don't need more bows if we have enchantments.

So every arrow I fire from this turns into something that bogs down walk and attack speed? I'd hate to run into another player with something like this.
Well, that is your opinion. Nothing I can do about that.
Yeah uh this is more or less a cop-out to avoid to discussion. "Well your opinion and mine are different" is pretty obvious from the start, reiterating that does nothing. Actually yes, there is something you can do about this. I don't see any sense in adding another 'slowness' effect but slapping a slower attack speed on it. A freezing effect could work, but only if balanced properly and without the need for a beefy annoying bow.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

1. Freezing can be applied to Swords, and can be removed by staying near a light source.
2.Frost Bows as in Bows enchanted with Frost.
3. He disliked one of the core aspects of the suggestion, and I didn't want to change it.
4. You are probably right in the notion that there are better methods of being afflicted with freezing in nature, other than making Ice annoying.
Currently fire status is very similar to wither... and what?
but wither arrow and potion isn't obtainable in survival, so they don't replace each other. having both frozen and slowness arrow is kinda weird. support the ice aspect ench though.
I think flame and frost & fire aspect and ice aspect should be mutually exclusive.

I suppose that would make the most sense
