Violets would be flowers grown differently than the other flowers in the game--they'd be grown as would Wheat or any other farming item.
Here's what they could look like when grown (keep in mind art isn't my strong-suit, it's just a an example). The seeds used to grow the Violets could be found rarely in grass, and would look very similar to Wheat seeds.
When harvested, they would drop 1 (100%) or 2 (35%) of their petals and 1 (100%) or 2 (35%) of their seeds.
These petals would be used to create a new potion, the Potion of Pheromones.
This potion would make all farm animals follow the player who drank it for 2 minutes (normal) and 8 minutes (extended).
I like it. It's simple, useful, and could be easily coded, I'm sure. The only thing is that I could better see violets as either A. A biome-exclusive flower-type block that would drop petals on breaking w/o shears, with no seeds for farming, or B. A rarely generating temperate biome flower that would drop petals on breaking w/o shears, with no seeds for farming. Overall, Support.

Or maybe have the corrupted potion attract hostile mobs? That'd be an interesting effect to poison people with on PvP, plus you can use it on other mobs to use them as hostile bait.
As for the idea itself, it's pretty decent. Not sure how much I'd use it myself, but I can see it being good.
Attracting hostile mobs huh? That's a good idea. Maybe the corrupted potion that does this would be called the potion of reeking? Because I mean, the good smells of the potion of pheromones attracts nice animals, and I bet some of the hostile mobs (zombies, husks, skeletons, etc) would smell pretty bad, and would probably be attracted to bad smells.
As for the suggestion itself, I also think it is decent, even though we have leads (though those don't work on all passive mobs) and we have baiting/breeding material for specific mobs. The only problem I have is with the violet being farm able like wheat. I would rather it be a rare flower that you find in some rare biome like a flower forest than be farm able like wheat. I am fine with it though. Maybe it can only be farmed/grown from seeds if the seeds are placed in a flower pot? That would be interesting.

I think this is a good idea, I agree with the repellant potion idea too. Only one suggestion: You should get it's seeds from a rarely spawning plant, something like "weed"? The violet should still drop it's seeds so you don't have to go on another big search for a second one. So about 85% support.

I'm a Whovian squid who likes drawing.
I'm also quite nerdy with an interest in game developing and the concept of a fourth spatial dimension.
Potion of Fire Resistance.
Potion of Water Breathing.
Potion of Regeneration.
Potion of Strength.
Potion of Weakness.
None of those have a recipe using Fermented Spiders Eyes so your third point is invalid. If a good reversed state can be added then sure, but there is no need to try and force one into the idea if it works better without one.
Weakness is the inverted state of Strength. There are just other ways to get Weakness.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

1 - I don't see why we need this, because it's easy to acquire baiting/breeding material already.
2 - If anything, I'd rather it be called a Love Potion, because it has a better ring to it.
3 - To maintain a common theme, all potions should have reversed state (Via fermented spider eye), which in this case would be a repellent?

It's a simple idea, but I like it. The flower is balanced, and the potion would solve that annoying follow-me issue.
