I don't know, Weight never appears to take place in Minecraft. Even when carrying thousands of items in your inventory.. Eagles wouldn't be able to fly with solid armor, so how would steve even move? If your Minecraft character couldn't handle wearing solid iron, gold, or diamond armor, then Horses, or even Eagles couldn't wear their style of armor, Minecraft doesn't run with that, solid or not.

minecraft has dumped quite a bit of known logic, so I don't see why it would hurt to add eagles with armor in.

Currently seeking a modder, a banner creater and a model creater. Please respond if interested either here or through
message.
The eagle I like it so far
Spawns in mountainous terrain above 80 y Seems decent
Spawn rate is rare, about that of slime in caves alright
Drops 2 to 4 feathers and 2 to 5 experience orbs when killed alright with me
Lays 1 eagle egg every 20 minutes or once every minecraft day. Ooookaaayy
The favored prey of the eagle is pigs. Eagles will attack pigs while flying slightly above them. Why not sheep? They are a natural prey. Pigs aren't
killing a pig will restore a wild eagles health ok
Eagles are a provoke-only mob, meaning they will only attack a mob or player when provoked to do so excluding pigs. just say neutral
Wild eagles are not bound by a nest and are still subject to despawning just as any other mob. A nest? This sounds odd
If an eagle despawns or is killed the abandoned nest will become a sort of spawn zone meaning it will be more likely
to spawn a new eagle than it would for an eagle to spawn randomly. A little rarer than a normal mob Ok...
If the player mines a nest with a silk touch axe the nest becomes a block drop allowing the player the convenience
of placing the nest in a more desireable location, however, doing so will result it a spawn rate of 1/3 the original
spawn rate of a normal wild eagle meaning it is still possible but don't get your hopes up. ... Still ok so far
The nest of an eagle will not spawn within 20 blocks of another eagle I like this
If more than one abandoned nest is within 42 blocks of another abandoned nest it will not increase the potential to
spawn an eagle. Ok... so is it possible to have like 2 in a zoo then?
If a wild eagle has somehow been moved from it's nest, even at great distances, it will still attept to find it's nest until
it succeeds, despawns or is killed. This sounds terribly annoying.
If a nest is mined or destroyed the eagle that originally spawned in that area will frenzy. Attacking any entity within sight. Uh... this sounds REALLY ANNOYING
If an abandoned or placed nest is found by a rogue eagle it will claim that nest and become no longer frenzied ok
Eagles are territorial and become provoked when a mob or player enters a 7x7 block radius of their spawn point Then how does a zoo work?
which is marked by a nest made of brown, dried grass and twigs. The nest is mineable with a silk touch axe.
The nest is the only place an eagle will lay an egg. ... ok
Eagles can provoke 1 another and will fight for territory and abandoned or open nests. They will not fight to the death however. How can they know?
Appearance
The wild eagle is 1 block tall and 2 blocks wide from wing to wing with it's wings open and is one block long from tail
to beak K
while the wild eagle has it's wings closed it is 1 block wide K
Wild eagles are a dark brown and have a dark silver beak and yellow eyes K
The feather representation would be rather sleak and thin. K
Stats
Eagles have between 5 to 9 health bars (10 to 18 hearts i think?) That's alot for a bird
The heath bar of an eagle is random. horses
Eagles deal 3 health bars of damage against unarmored entities whoa
Eagles will fly up to 15 blocks away from the nest That's not much
Eagles have a flight speed of 2.5 blocks per second That's slow
Eagles cannot be tamed by being fed any item. Instead, they are only tameable by obtaining an eagle egg and throwing it another tameable?
to the ground which has a 1/20 chance to produce an eagle chick. Chicken
Eagle chicks have 3 to 5 health bars Ok
eagle chicks deal 1/2 a health bar of damage It's natural instinct should be to flee
Eagle chicks will from time to time peck the player as a show of affection, this will deal no damage to the player. ok
You can feed an eagle chick raw pork chops to restore it's health, Ok which also causes the chick to hop and twirl hop.. and... twirl???
around momentarily, chirping sparatically.
an eagle chick's health can be measured by it's tail feathers. held slightly upward means perfectly healthy *cough* wolf *cough*
whereas the tail dragging across the floor means it is about to die.
eagle chicks cannot be ordered to follow or be stationary. They will follow you anywhere and everywhere even to
their doom. annoying
It takes 25 minutes for an eagle chick to mature into an adult eagle, tamed Ok
Appearance of an eagle chick Like it all
eagle chicks are about a 1/2 block tall and 3/4 block wide with wings expanded, 1/2 block wide with wings closed
and are 1/2 block long from tail to beak
Eagle chicks are white with a black beak and eyes
Eagle chicks fether representation is poofy with a few random feathers sticking out
A tamed eagle has the same base stats and drops as a wild eagle
tamed eagles can be fed cooked pork chops or cooked fish to restore it's health.
Tamed eagles health can be measured by the position of their head. Straight forward means perfectly healthy
90 degree angle means it is about to die. more dog... This is basically a dog so far
Appearance of a tamed eagle Ok
Tamed eagles have the same structure as their wild counter-part
Tamed eagles have a black body with an orange beak and claws, a white head and golden eyes
Tamed eagles feather representation is slick and round but also includes a couple of feathers sticking out
on the back of the neck.
Tamed eagles can be equipped with golden eagle armor, iron eagle armor or diamond eagle armor which can only
be found in dungeons and temples similar to horse armor. horse.. It's a freaking flying horse dog
golden eagle armor offers 3.5 defense bars
Iron eagle armor offers 2.5 defense bars
diamond eagle armor offers 5.5 defense bars
Tamed eagles can be ordered to be stationary or to follow by left clicking them while they are on the ground
While stationary tamed eagles will not move from that position willingly, stationary mode is illustrated by the
tamed eagle sitting. How do you switch from staionary to following or whatever
While in follow mode the tamed eagle will escort the player on foot in cramped spaces or in flight in open areas.
The tamed eagle will engage in combat with mobs or other players that attack or are attacked by the player.
While in follow mode the eagle can be left clicked while in flight which causes the eagle to swoop down
and pick the player up. LEFT clicked?
While carrying the player the eagle is controlled similar to flying mode. Simply look the direction you wish to go
and press forward.
The eagle can carry a player for up to 25 blocks in any direction and will slowly descend the player to the ground
while the player is unarmored however there will be a slight delay when the eagle first picks the player up.
The following is a chart demonstrating how armor effects flight:
Unarmored
Flight distance up to 25 blocks in any direction
flight speed 2 blocks per second
descending rate after maximum has been reach, .5 blocks per second
Leather armor
Flight distance 20 blocks in any direction
flight speed 1.5 blocks per second
descending rate 1 block per second
chain armor
flight distance 20 blocks
flight speed 1.25 blocks per second
descending rate 1.5 blocks per second
Iron armor
flight distance 15 blocks
flight speed 1.25 blocks per second
descending rate 2 blocks per second
Gold armor
Flight distance 15 blocks
flight speed 1 block per second
descending rate 2.5 blocks per second
Diamond armor
Flight distance 10 blocks
flight speed 1 block per second
descending rate 3 blocks per second
Mixed armor
Flight distance 20 blocks
Flight speed 1.25 blocks per second
descending rate 2 blocks per second
I like the armour thing gives a reason to wear leather
If either the player or the eagle is attacked during flight the eagle may drop the player. Ow
If the player falls for more than 10 blocks the eagle will attempt to catch the player. This will cause 2 health bars of
damage to both the player and the eagle.
New pictures have been added. The first represents wild eagles, one standing and one flying.
The second represents a top view of the wild eagles.
The third represents the tamed eagle from the front
The fourth represents the tamed eagle from above. Ok
Over all, I like eagles, but I think the nests and taming need to go. The nests are really wierd, and the Eagles are liek addicted to them, and taming an eagle??? That just dosen't fit. Even if you tame them, they can't lift you.
Also, eagels eat fish and rabbit and chicken and baby sheep. But not pigs.
Thank you for your support. I will take a few minutes to try and make it simpler and easier. I just wanted to get as much detail
as possible for in case measures.
Also I forgot to mention something, will eagle glide around or fly like bats do?

Huh? I am confused as to why the armor would prevent them from flying but in
light of your concern I offer that any armor on the eagle would be displayed as
a helmet with body armor and a light cover over the wings that expands slightly
beyond the wing to assist in lift off and maintaining flight by being aerodynamic.
I also see no problem in making the armor more like chain in asthetic appearance
as long as functionality is not impacted.
That said, if we are talking the morality of physics then I offer you this fun fact;
Anything has the capability of flight given it has enough forward moment.

Pirates: -The link broke-
Chorus apes: -The link broke
The first no support. I will attempt to address each of your concerns individually, those of which cannot be satisfactorily
addressed will be removed.
1. Sheep already have a natural predator in wolves. Having 2 predators for the same mob would severely hinder
the player's capability to utilize that mob.
2. A zoo would be possible but you would need to do a bit of work in finding more than one wild eagle. Also if you wish to
exhibit 2 wild eagles together you will need to bring 2 nests and either lasso them or use glass to seperate them.
A bit on the factual side eagles will fight one another IRL.
3. Nest annoyance, While you may view it as annoying I had introduced this as a behavior to mimic a real life eagle.
That said, if the eagle would automatically abandon a nest as soon as it was x amount of blocks away it would cause
too much litter and would also cause more issues with frenzied eagles.
4. Frenzied eagles being annoying. This feature is intended to deter players from mining a nest which will result in a frenzied
eagle. This mob was introduced with and designed for characteristics that no other mob has, one of which would be
the frenzied state. To justify the frenzied state, I purposed this as a form of a challenge for those who dare to provoke
an eagle noting that you are not their only target.
5. Zoos could work, I can see your main concern here, but eagles are suggested to be housed alone. They do not play well
with others. If you must house other animals with them I suggest a fence around the 7x7 radius to prevent other mobs from
being attacked.
6. How do eagles not fight to the death. AI. Also the positioning of their head shows their health making it possible for
other mobs and players to determine remaining health. This is another feature inspired by real eagles.
7. Health. These birds aren't meant to go down without a fight.
8. Horse. Yes their health is similar to a horse but not as much as a horse. Most horses have more health than
the player does.
9. Eagle's damage. I am uncertain how you view this or if that was just an impressed whoa. Either way I will address it.
The reason I chose 3 full heart bars of damage was because this particular mob is neutral. It does have more than just
the player to contend with (it will attack any mob in it's zone. Even hostile ones). A single blow will offten end any
territorial fued. Also any less and they would be UP anymore would be OP.
10. 15 block distance. This was inspired to prevent despawning if a player is near a nest trying to capture one or fight one.
It was also inspired to create quick response time to intruders around the nest.
11. Slowness. The eagle is about as fast as steve running. This is proposed to give less OP in pvp, add to capability of
mining a nest without an extremely high threat. To assist in reducing lag.
12. Another tameable. Absolutely. The whole reason I am suggesting they be tameable is because it would offer just
on single bit of extra variety and so far no one else has disagreed but that's just their point of view. To try to justify this
as another tameable I offer that this particular tameable would introduce new approaches to many aspects in the game
including but not limited to; flight, survival tactics, pvp, servers of any kind, new battle techniques and new skills to be learned.
13. Chicken. Yes an eagle will produce eggs similar to a chicken. However, unlike a chicken this occurs seldomly. Also
unlike a chicken this is the only way to obtain a tamed eagle. That is inspired by the fact that most every animal will
imprint on the first entity it comes into contact with while adult eagles as we all know are not generally to accepting
of outsiders.
14. Eagle chick should flee. The reason they do not flee is beause for all intents and purposes you are this chick's parent.
They will not stand by and watch you be hurt.
15. Hop and twirl. Absolutely yes! No other mob reacts to the player beyond following them. This is an attempt to break that.
16. Eagle chick tail displays health similar o wolf. Yes it does but unlike the wolf this is an eagle. So how would you prefer
it's health be measured? You are caring for it and are going to need to know when it's hurt. The head and wings would be
too small and legs don't make much sense.
17. Eagle chicks follow you anywhere is annoying. You could say it'd be annoying or exciting. Depends on your view.
This will be a bit tedious but it is worth the end result. The reason they follow you is because you are their parental figure.
But they are too young to accept orders.
18. More dog. No, unlike a dog the adult version uses it's head to display it's health. Once again, you just spent 50
minutes waiting for your eagle to grow up, you are going to be invested in it's health.
19. This is basically a dog so far. To be honest this was offensive but speaking from an objective point of view, this
is nowhere near wolves. They share 2 similar traits. That's it. Eagles can offer unfound skills and help the player in most
every situation. They also will go places wolves won't or can't.
20. Freaking flying horse dog. Please see previous comment as it pertains to both.
21. Switching from stationary to follow and left clicking. I am only playing minecraft on xbox 360 so forgive me if I don't use
pc terms and keys. Basically the same button you press to plant stuff, activate stuff and in general use any second feature
such as hoes, bonemeal, fishing rods etc.
Thank you very much for your feedback. It forced me to try and push this idea beyond what I had originally thought.
I hope I was capable of addressing each concern accurately.

Ok! Will do. I thought rabbits were taken out, those were my first choice but let's go both just to be sure.
Youtube-eonwolfx9, Twitter @eonwolfx9
Ok, sheep and rabbits are the new favored prey
Wild eagles no longer defend nests, nests are just there now until someone asks for them to be removed. They could at
least be decorative.
Eagle chicks no longer have any abnormal behaviors and will only follow a player on solid blocks. They also now flee from
hostile mobs.
Tamed eagles no longer carry the player. Now they are freakin flyin horse dogs.
Eagles damage reduced to 2.5. Flight distance increased to 25 blocks and flight speed increased to 3.5 blocks per second.
