Should Minecraft Add Water Mobs?
I feel like Mojang is leaving water creatures out of the same! I believe that they should be adding different water mobs like dolophins, sharks, coral reefs, whales, etc.
They could spawn in there natural biomes such as dolophins in the warmer biomes and beluga whales in the colder biomes.
After playing a couple mods which featured different water mobs, i really do believe that this would definatly be an amazing thing to add into the game because the water mobs (ie. fish) havent really been worked on for a while (with the exception of fishing).
If you have any suggestions on what they should add the the water, feel free to reply below!
I really want to hear what else should be added
If we get some good ideas, i might send an email out to Mojang to see what they think!
Well, the Guardians are the beginning of what I hope to be the beginning of the expansion into the ocean, and while real-life aquatic creatures could be added, I'd like to see more original mobs like the Guardian added to replace the boring generic sharks.
Agreed with DesinitDraco, I'm hoping to see more original sea mobs rather than the redundant and commonly suggested Dolphins, Sharks, and Fish as moving entities. Though I'm not sure about Coral Reefs. Would they be added for ambiance? As a generated structure? Or maybe provide a few new uses and blocks to the game.

Coral Reefs could probably be mostly aesthetic, but I believe there could be farmable corals or sponge plants that can be used to make sponge or dyes (dyes from the multi-colored corals)

Instead of a Shark just being a moving entity, it could possibly attack players when they enter the water or something like that. I was thinking that instead of just making them do nothing, it could be something that actually effects the gameplay.

I would obviously expect them to be at least somewhat aggressive towards the player, but maybe only if the player has below full health (blood in the water) that attracts their attention, but all-in-all, I still believe that more original mobs could and should take it's place.

What if sharks only attack if you hurt them, like zombie pigmen?

This adds originality, to some degree. If water mobs get added, they should follow this guideline.
Responses in bold.
Water mobs should be added, but they should be original, like the guardian (as stated in the quote above.)
Partial support; water mobs should be added, but they should be original instead of basing it off normal animals.
While I don't necessarily agree with dolphins, sharks, coral reefs, etc, I do think there should be more life to the ocean. It would be interesting if you could see fish when fishing, but they would be too fast to be hit by sword, and therefore fishing is still the only way to get fish and other stuff from the ocean.
I definitely like this sway into the ocean biome, as its been pretty dull for the past few years (with the exception of the Sea Temple).
I definitely would like to see fishes in the sea. But I have an idea. You can see them above, through and below water but, you can't damage them or catch them with your bare hands, they're purely for aesthetics purpose only. You could fish them using a fishing rod, like normal.
Guardians are just the start, don't worry I'm pretty sure Mojang has a big, wet surprise to us.

Just changed it
Thanks for the heads up!
Also, Sharks don't deliberately kill people, it is often because since they think the human or surfboard looks like a penguin, their prey.
