As I told you before, the sky dimension was turned into the end, so the sky dimension is infact implemented into the game already
You are correct. The heaven dimention (sky) was reworked, but kept three features of the origional. 1) biome, 2) floating island, 3) only one mob can spawn. But in 1.8, 1 was removed, and in 1.9 it looks like 2 might get some issues. The biome name changed, and now people want this dimention more. to which i say, let the mobs of people have their wish... By installing mods into 1.8!!!
This is my main problem with the Skylands as they were shown back in Beta. They weren't specal. You had nothing to visit them fore, beside some annoying terrain generation. Some things were even rarer in the Skylands, or just didn't appear at all.
Idk, I think the terrain itself makes it special...that's just my opinion. Adding more custom things would be nice too.
i dont get why every one is saying its so plain no support i thought that it was fully thought of and is not finished so of course it would be different then the over world which many people seem to not think of

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
So basically it's "Mojang should have taken the Aether and slapped that in the game"? There's a good reason why mods are mods, and not vanilla things. Just because something is liked/popular doesn't stamp it as vanilla worthy.
I agree 100% with your post but you are actually wrong about this. slime blocks, potions, enchanting, and the new custom terrain generator were all mods
On the topic of the suggestion very vague and I say the same as everyone else with he redundancy. No Support sorry
We are saying no support because some features are left unexplained and how the idea originally became the end. But if this provides any actual use, then I could give it a support.
good point but others say oh its the over world in the sky no support i mean there's going to have to be something unique there

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
I for one would really like to see either an alternate sky world dimensions, or ability to convert The End to a purified state. As of right now The End has no content to offer whatsoever, apart from a boss and none else. In 1.9 the Ender Dragon IS getting buffed, but that doesn't add too much to the point of having something as useless as The End.
The suggestion itself is rather vague considering the subject. Because of that,
Useless? It is just what you make of it. Many players have builded large enderman farms in there, for free enderpearls and free XP. They can now "fly" through the world and enchant whatever they want with ease. Especially with those endermites, those farms are a lot more easy to build.
Further you have 60 million by 60 million by 255 blocks of empty space to build every floating city, space ship or whatever you want, with only a small island in the middle. A space without annoying shadows on the ground and only endermen, which you can already prevent spawning with enough light.
For adventure maps it can even serve very well as alternative boss room, were you can make your own bosses with redstone mechanics and your own buildings and dungeons around it. And where you can even make an alternative end poem by including a resource pack with it in the map.
So in my opinion the End is only useless for those who lack the creativity to do something more with it then only kill the enderdragon.
Nice list, I'd like to see some of those things. (Custom bosses in vanilla, etc.)
On topic, though I support the idea it is rather vague. Please add more detail.
Believe it or not, the biome name was not changed, it is still the sky biome
Sky and The End are the same biome. It says "The End" in game. But biome painter see's it as sky. It was just renamed. I do not know when. I'm thinking it was during the 1.7 biome update. This could mean that there is room for the sky dimension to be added if they wanted to.
seeing that they are one in the same biome I don't see how that would be possible
Did some poking around the wiki and found this bit of info.
Notch left data in for an early prototype of the Sky Dimension in beta 1.6 and 1.7 The biome data was added as well can called "sky" When beta 1.9 pre-releases were in progress the Sky Dimension was revised to create The End. Rather it being in the sky this dimention is deep in the void. The Biome name was never changed until the 1.8 snapshot 14w17athe name was finally changed from sky to The End.
I would still like to see this added since allot of people love floating islands and finding them in vanilla is kinda hard w/o using amplified terrain generation and that privilege is reserved for people with beefy computers. And Using Amplified also spoils the fun of finding huge mountains by making them way to common.
People really invested their energy in the initial sky dimension, which looks like what sparked people into supporting this despite this idea being very vague...
Mojang didn't 'cheat us', everyone just got their hopes up way too high. The dream world sky dimension wasn't promised to us, it was just a bunch of preview images of floating islands and not much development beyond that.

This looks like vent posting. How do you know for sure it was laziness? Perhaps there was more reasoning behind that that wasn't fully shared with us?
If you want my comments on that, please read the "arguement" from earlier.

You mentioned how Mojang "didn't keep their word" when they actually weren't keeping any word at. The sky dimension was a possibility, an idea, not something we would be guaranteed to exist. People were just hoping for that sky dimension, didn't get it, and then took it out on Mojang whom made no actual promises.
So it's pretty much on our end for the disappointment, not Mojang's, because we got ahead of ourselves and convinced ourselves we'd be getting a heaven sky dimension.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
(How do you bring back something that wasn't implemented in the first place?)
Anyhow, I don't see the use of having a sky dimension, sure, I guess it would be cool, but Mojang is Mojang, they said they were going to put rideable red dragons in the 1.9 alpha, but ended up just making the enderdragon better.

How exactly is a void realm and a world with floating islands of grass etc. that is actually IN THE SKY the same?
