Seeing as there's no section for all platforms, I'm just gonna post this here.
Currently, in the game, animals can make sounds; you hear it throughout your play-through. The rain is loud/muffled wherever you are.
However, when you're all alone, in an empty field, in a dark and grisly cave, it's extremely quiet.
So I was thinking: What if there was ambient noise in the game?
Ambient noises are in most games I've come across: GTA, Saints Row, Fallout, State of Decay, etc.
By ambient noise, I'm talking about birds chirping, wind howling [depending on the weather], distant thunder, the waves crashing against themselves and the shore. Essentially, noise to bring the environment to life.
Minecraft has SOME ambient noise, but it would be awesome to just hear the sounds of the wind blowing or the thunder in the distance to signal an incoming thunderstorm. Or when night comes, crickets chirp and wolves howl into the night.
The reason I ask this is because I'm currently working on a map, and it just sounds so...quiet, even with the animals throughout the place. I personally think that adding ambient noise, or background noise [if you prefer], would make the environment feel more alive and less stiff.
Cool I guess... but what if I don't want to hear these?
Partial Support.
As DurzaMC stated, there could be an option in the sound settings that would allow you to disable the ambient background noise. That way, players aren't forced to keep the sounds on.

I like Video games, such as Pokemon and animal crossing. My avatar is Villager, possible reference to the Akia Village?

I would guess there is an option in the sound settings. Pretty redundant but I support.
