I'VE USED PLENTY of mods before! But I just think it would be cool to have guns in-game vanilla, that's my opinion, Deal with It!
I already know it's your opinión, if not, you wouldn´t have posted it.
About the guns idea I don´t support it for the following reasons:
1)It doesn´t fit with the minecraft theme because it's based in primitive weapons/tolos/furniture.
2)It would be too OP for PvP. Iron is easy too get,the gun has a high durability ,it shoots in a straight line and with the rapid fire enchantement killing player would be too easy.
3)It makes the sense of a war game. This is very personal and you may disagree, but if guns were added I would feel playing a FPS rather than minecraft.
Whether you want to fathom this or not, your own opinion is the weakest piece of support on your own suggestion, because if you posted your suggestion to begin with, we already know you actually want it.
No one can blame you having opinions, but they won't take you the lengths you want in terms of having others like your suggestion. You thinking that your idea "would be a really cool thing to add" won't magically make others support your ideas. If you really want to finger people's brains and have them support your ideas, you gotta lay down some cold hard facts on why anyone else should be on board with your idea.

"It's my opinion" doesn't really say much. If you created the thread, you are obviously on board with your own idea; we don't need confirmation on that. Phrases like "It's cool" and "It's my opinion!" aren't big crowd-winners around here. I recommend checking out this thread.
Nobody is saying you aren't allowed to want guns in the game. You have a right to an opinion like everyone. Why do we need to "deal with it?"
I feel guns are too powerful for a game such as Minecraft. Guns are very powerful weapons and would render nearly every weapon worthless. I honestly cannot imagine firing guns in Minecraft in my wildest dreams, they just don't seem fitting.
I feel guns would get very bad reception among younger crowds. Even if it isn't violent, adding guns to game played by a lot of 3-12 year-olds wouldn't go over so well, especially nowadays.

While I do agree that guns should be implemented, yours is way to OP. Go look a my post about flintlock pistols. Mine were not as OP because thy were expensive but the major thing was the fact that you had to reload each bullet since that's how flintlock pistols work. And it takes a long time to reload, roughly 15 seconds, which is realistic to a real life flintlock pistol. ad no matter how good your post is, majority will hats on you because most don't think guns should be in the game, even if they aren't OP
I think guns just don't fit. Especially not in Minecraft's generation. When people are making bows a stuff, you're already making a gun. It doesn't make much sense. I find guns game-spoiling, (It is ironic, how I host a guns server). But you're idea is generally more detailed and more well-thought than some random 4 year old's post. Congrats on that. Back to the point, I think crossbows are already a little ahead. Guns are literally ripped from the future than plopped in minecraft. Sorry, I'm gonna have to say no.

First of all, stop telling people that its their opinion and you also have an opinion. Isn't it fairly OBVIOUS that people are posting their opinion about your opinion? Yes, this is a forum where we share our opinions.
This is very OP and doesn't fit the theme of Minecraft. Guns are not supposed to be in a game like this, and would totally ruin it for singleplayer and multiplayer. Bows are not OP cause at least you have to take time to aim and you can't just spam shoot instantly.
Do a little research. The Modding/Plugin API is a planned update that will make it easy to download/install mods. My point was, spending time coding guns takes away from time spent coding more important things. Things, again, that they already have said they are going to implement. This would include primarily vanilla content, the new API is just another feature they have been teasing about for years.
On top of that, adding a new weapon always requires a lot of balance to make sure they fit in the game. Especially a gun that you're saying will be more powerful than a bow. Bows are already able to do a good amount of damage, so without majorly changing previous content (like for example nerfing bows) they would most likely need to add another tier of armor, or something to that extent.
Why not just keep guns as mods/plugins? If you think mods are too complicated to install, you've never used one before.
Not supporting because you think the debs should work on something else is not a valid reason. If you think they should work on something else... Make your own damned suggestion.

Okay, you're right. I realize now that I shouldn't have used that as my main critique.
However, what I said about balancing still stands. Adding something like guns to a game balanced with swords and bows, at least the gun the OP suggested, would be game breaking.
It could be a flintlock. It could have a lot of kick and maybe it takes time for the revolver ammo to... Revolve. 2 seconds should do the trick.

Let's suppose for a moment that I like guns in general, which I don't, in in Minecraft more specifically, which I really don't, but let's just suppose that I do LOVE them, to get that out of the way.
Three words to resume my opinion of your suggestion :
Incredibly. Unbalancingly. Overpowered.
Now, if guns are ever added, it should be an end-game item. Iron is EASY.
And it should be only a single type of really primitive "gun".
Recipe: Why gunpowder in the gun itself ? Absolutely no reason. And 4 iron is cheap.
The bullets should cost a lot more. and their reciope suggest a definitely way too modern a shape. Medieval bullets were not "elongated", they were more or less spheres.
Here is something much more fitting for minecraft : a "gun" that would use for it's ammo ... Fire Charges ! Let's call it a Blunderbuss.
Empty Blunderbuss recipe: let's say 1 hopper + 3 diamonds. Even with diamonds it is not really "end game".
Blunderbuss recipe: 1 Empty Blunderbuss + 1 Iron Ingot + 1 Gravel + 1 Fire Charge (shapeless).
Here you have ammo that is actually costly. Shoots ONCE, then needing "reload".
To shoot, it does not shoot instantly: you need to have flint and steel and 1 string on both sides of the inventory slot with blunderbuss. When you use Blunderbuss, it uses up durability of flint and steel and 1 string too then you hear "ssssss" for a duration *random* from 1 to 3 seconds. It can even fizzle and not shoot at all (in that case, nothing wasted apart from 1 string + 1 flint and steel durability). While you hear the sssss your character can only move slowly like for moving with a bow ready to be shot.
Then if it DOES shoot, then KABLAM ! It shoots out in a cone in front of you, some number of random "damage rays" (not visible rays - much like a creeper explosion is just a lot of random invisible damage rays too), but shooting at only a QUITE short range though. Targets very close will take sizeable damage - but good luck trying to shoot them a second time though. Targets further away very QUICKLY get almost negligible damage. However, every once in a while (not too rarely - let's say 5% of the time) the blunderbuss will explode instead, losing the blunderbuss totally and damaging the shooter instead. Overall it would be a good weapon if it was more reliable and wasn't so dangerous for it's own user ! As it is, sure it can be quite deadly in PVP but a player relying on it will almost always lose because eventually he will end up damaging himself seriously sooner or later. And a 3 diamonds per blunderbuss that ain't coming cheap. It is more of a fun "hey I can deal a lot of damage because I don't mind dying too" weapon, mostly for fun. However, when faced against a HORDE of mobs, it can really be a lifesaver - given that you'd probably just die from being overrun anyway, you might as well take a chance and shoot to "soften up" the zombie horde a bit lol and maybe even nearly kill the nearest one.
In other words, EACH shot would require :
1 gunpowder + 1 coal (or charcoal) + 1 blaze powder + 1 iron + 1 string + 1/65 of a flint and steel + 1/7 diamond (if it blows up let's say every 20 shots on average).
Something to be used sporadically, not all the time.
If you want guns, go play Halo or Battlefield. Minecraft has a sort-of caveman (i guess) feel. Guns definitely do not belong in Minecraft. Plus, there is TONS of mods that include guns.
Guns would work in Minecraft, just not modern guns.
Well, it's you again huh? Guns don't fit really in Minecraft. We already have bows, snowballs and eggs for us to throw like a gun. Well, adding guns removes the purpose of bows in Minecraft. If possible, add crafting recipes for your guns and bullets. And another thing, Minecraft is designed and is like from the dark ages, and guns are from the modern age. I'm not saying it as a very terrible idea, but I'm saying it's a great idea, just add some more details and info and change some more things.

I would explain why I do not support the idea of guns being implemented into vanilla minecraft, however I feel the majority of the people in this thread have already done that for me. That being said, Id also like to note that the poll is indicating that a majority of us do infact dislike the idea.
You could craft bullets by 1 iron ingot surrounded by 4 diamonds to make 4 bullets.
So then they are so insanely expensive nobody would ever waste their diamonds to make just one bullet per diamond, dealing just one measly heart per bullet (ten bullets to kill most common mobs, four even with Flame); by comparison, a diamond sword deals four hearts per hit, dealing 6,248 hearts of damage, 3,124 per diamond, over its lifetime, and that isn't even considering enchantments (Sharpness V + Unbreaking III = 44,517 hearts). Similarly, a bow can deal up to 5 hearts per arrow and enchantments again increase this and Infinity makes getting arrows a non-issue (I probably get more than I use anyway from skeletons as I mostly use my sword).
In other words, a big flaw with many suggestions is trying to balance them in ways that are just wildly impractical, either making it too OP or nerfing it so much nobody would ever want to use it. In any case, guns don't sound fitting for the game, not in the least because of the widespread association between guns and violence (as for being too "modern" I suppose we should remove redstone (electricity/machines) and jukeboxes/music discs (records? CDs?) from the game).
A flintlock pistol or musket could be cool. However, there shouldn't be hitscan and there should also be some big drawbacks to using them such as very limited amounts of ammo that's hard to get as well as a slow reload time. Just something that leaves the bow and sword viable.
With that said, I think that the game needs more basic combat weapons before guns. Even though its more sandbox-focused, we could really use some extra combat options since there's only two. Battle axes, spears, crossbows, etc. would be a nice addition. If we had more things like that then I think guns could be more welcomed.
