Just like rabbit skin, paper and flint. Those are alos items only for use in recipes, with no use for themselves. The iron nugget is just invented to make the recyling more balanced, to enable smaller amounts then the ingot.
I know what the iron nugget is for. I'm suggesting it should have more uses. Or rather, not suggesting, because this isn't the suggestions forum. But you know what I mean.
Rabbit skin and flint. Yes, those are fairly useless. Paper, though, is useful. Or at least, it seems to be, since I keep running out of it. And none of that changes how useless the iron nugget is.
Why did they add the Iron Nugget? I cannot for the life of me imagine a scenario where I would need something like that. :T
It's kinda neat for trading and the like, and I could see it being used for future recipes, but as it stands the yield of melting waste items is so poor it's not worth it at all.
Is it just me or zombie villagers stopped spawning from zombie spawner at all? Wiki has not been updated to reflect that, it still mention that 5% of ALL spawned zombies will turn out to be a villager one. Yet, with all the time I've spent in my zombie xp grinder..I saw none.
Too bad, I like to add a redstone contraption to isolate baby zombie villagers and cure them..No point now.
Well, I would not say not worth it...it is better than no smelting at all. You get a few broken iron shovels & swords, from a zombie xp grinder..now there is a use for those. Of course, the update also changed the rate at which zombies will spawn equiped with armor. now that sucks. because now that we can smelt armors..imagine how neat that would have been! i always ended up with so many useless (for me) golden armors...
Yeah I don't think zombie villager spawners are possible for normal generation. Zombie villagers are no longer a sub class of zombie..neither are the husk. This was done so that they could add spawn eggs for them. You will need to trap zombie villagers out in the wild from normal spawning now.
Llamas...I could find them useful. You can decorate them for prettiness, though it serves no other purpose than being..pretty in many style and color.
The lead/caravan thing is cool, if you want to transport items from point A to point B..but keep in mind that monsters still spawn at night, so point B needs to be rather close. You do not want to die leading a pack of equiped Llamas, no, no.
About the 24 entity cap per block well...at first I thought it was very bothersome. No use forgetting yourself at your mob xp grinder..you'll never get more than 24-25 mobs anyways. But then I understand that this was probably a very useful update for servers...so they do not explode.
I have my own server now, and both my skelli and zombie grinder are improved to acccomodate this new entity cap.
Nothing fancy, I just add 2 hoppers, and free space above..so mobs now have 3 blocks they can wander on. That gives me up to 75 mobs, if I am patient enough to wait.
They all fall on the same block, but then they wander on the other 2 blocks...Problem fixed!

There's also the point that when they do get overcrowded, it just kills them, so it's effectively a new grinder method. You won't get player-only drops from the suffocation damage, but you will if you hand-kill the weakened mobs.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Rocket propelled Elytras: Awesome. This is one of the best features ever! Though elytras for me are a bit laggy so it's hard for me :/ Rating for rocket elytras = 9/10
Iron Nuggets: These are so useless (in my opinion). Maybe they should make it so that the amount of nuggets you get varies depending the iron tool/weapon/armor. Rating for Iron Nuggets = 3/10. They seriously need a buff.
Sweeping Edge Enchantment: It's pretty fine. Another enchantment to add to my sword.. Rating for Sweeping Edge = 7/10.

Sweeping Edge Enchantment:
Yes, but isn't rocket propelled elytras a useless thing? Since how many resources it takes to build fireworks I think it would be better just to build a tall dirt tower. It takes less resources and is cheaper

What else are you planning on using that gunpowder for?

What? Not at all. they save a lot of time so I don't need to waist it on digging most of that time.

Also, I'm not sure if this is (Or can be considered to be) for the 1.12 update. (this seams like it's a 1.11 update that was added a bit late.)
It's officially for the 1.11.1 Update
Help me fight for chariots! And help me find a world where Players rom freely throughout the lands filled with animals and lush vegetation! The Game of MINECRAFT needs me! It needs YOU!!!

Not really. By the time you have killed the ender dragon and battled through an end city dungeon you probably will have a sugarcane and afk mob farm or at least the resources to build one.
Rocket propelled elytras are great but in my opinion nuggets are useless. Armour simply yields to little for it to be worth your fuel and time. The amount o of nuggets you get should be proportion to the durability of the armor.

I like some of the features for 1.11.1--->1.11.2
Elytra flight can now be lengthened by the use of a firework rocket.
Fireworks now explode and deal damage to mobs and does not damage the terrain.
Sweeping edge enchantment=increases the damage of sweep attacks(for swords only).
And the no use ^= Iron Nugget.

To get stuff back from waste items and armour.
About release 1.11.2. Is anyone else getting hit with major lag? I can't play it's so bad.

Figured it was time for a change.

Thank you very much for this info. So I could run into a zombie villager spawner.. in a dungeon. I am very happy with this then!

The Vex is weird in my opinion...

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

I really think 1.11 is bad... Especially auto jump...
