"Btw don't expect 512 high worlds to be released any time soon, this was a stress test that used 17gb of RAM :)"
And on Reddit:
"Someone somewhere might have thought about doing that... what about 100?
TBH the only reason why I did 256-high worlds now is because I want to remake the world gen and I need a bigger range."
Render distance in the picture is 1024 blocks:
"Thing is, I had to choose 1024 because under that you can barely see the base of the pillar Render distance in MCPE is a sphere, so to barely see the base of a 400 block pillar you need a ~500ish render distance, to see the horizon you need at least 700."
But... isn't this for MCPE? It is, but Mojang is trying to make all versions similar, so I think a new world generator would also be for MCPC. And 512 build height probably too. And I don't think there are many phones with 17GB of RAM, so he must have tested it on a PC...
Please limit this thread to discussing information from Mojang about 1.10. There is no indication that this is being represented as a possible feature in 1.10 or a future version of MCPC.
My opinions/suggestions on all confirmed features:
Polar Bears: Hmm, I'm not sure how well this would look, but I hope it suits with Minecraft. Hopefully, they can be bred with meat (much like a wolf), and they will drop fur (new item) and bear meat (not sure what that would be called).
Skeleton-like mob: I think it's going to be a cloaked skeleton in snowy areas that spawns instead of the regular skeletons, and I think the white eyes are just some random design difference.
Endermen in the Nether: It would kind of suck, but come on, Endermen are one of the only dangerous mobs that don't appear in the nether, along with the nether being the only dimension that they don't appear in. The word 'reach' probably means that they can now teleport between dimensions (aswell as occasionally spawning in the nether itself), which has been a somewhat missing concept since Beta 1.8.
New fiery block: I think it's a type of netherrack with lava seeping down some of its holes. Stepping on it is like stepping in fire (but you burn in it for as long as lava), so its not very safe. I hope it will be called Firestone, Fierystone, Fire Netherrack, or Fiery Netherrack.
Unlimited block IDs: Good concept for certain modders; they won't have to borrow other block IDs, and the modding API might finally be implemented.
Easy block state commands: This is great, because they had already done this with superflat customisation, and not everybody can truly recall every single block ID in the entire game.
Bark and trunk blocks, and seamless slab blocks: Great idea for survival mode builds, but I wouldn't really need it that much.
My opinions/suggestions on some possible (but not confirmed) features:
Taiga Villages: Taigas are pretty useless, so this would be quite nice. Also, the spruce wood would be a pretty nice addition to these villages.
Grass Paths and Wooden Plank/Smooth Sandstone (desert versions of bridges in PE) Bridges in Villages: This makes villages look nicer in my opinion. Ever since they changed the texture for gravel in 1.3, villages have somewhat started to look even uglier. Also, they can finally remove cobblestone/sandstone underneath the pathways because grass paths do not obey gravity.
My own suggestions for 1.10:
More variants for wooden objects: These include wooden trapdoors, wooden buttons, wooden pressure plates, bookshelves, crafting tables, etc.. It doesn't look very nice when you are using, say, oak pressure plates in a dark oak plank house, much like how my survival world is right now.
Acacia wood in savanna villages: Seeing that taiga villages might use spruce wood, maybe acacia wood in savanna villages can be a new 1.10 feature, with an 80% chance, which is the chance of an acacia tree being in a savanna biome (20% chance oak tree).
Air made an absence of a block again: In 1.7, they made air a block. I don't see any benefits of doing this, and all it does is cause problems for certain players. The problems with this is lag, and is one of the reasons why void fog was removed.
Void Fog re-added: Towards the end of 1.8 development, void fog (and the depthsuspend particles) were removed 'to improve performance'. Some people miss this, such as myself, and majority of others are saying that low performance isn't an issue, so if they made the above change, they could re-add it (by porting this code from older versions). To avoid complaints, this can be made into an option, much like the Console Edition before TU31 (when it was removed altogether).
Obtainable player heads in survival mode (with custom skin head on them at the time): Obtained rarely when killing yourself or dying in a lightning strike (like the other mobs that can drop their own mob heads). This can be rather neat for decorational purposes, as they are still creative mode only.
Obtainable fake wood slabs in survival mode (from before 1.3): Some people use this block for tricks (I saw a youtuber recently do so) for wooden builds on or near flame-related blocks. Other variants may be another option. Crafted with the corresponding real wood slab and a stone slab, yielding 2 fake wood slabs. This suggestion is unlikely, but would be pretty interesting if it were done in 1.10. Lastly, its inventory texture should be at least fixed, because it shows a missing texture block as of now.
4 years ago, I started played MCPE/Minecraft in general. Now, I have MCPC, and I'm still not bored of the blocky sandbox indie. Cuz awesomeness! Got a problem with that?
Please post suggestions in the Suggestions forum section. As I have already stated, this thread is for discussing the information and hints provided by Mojang for 1.10.
I hope more mobs are added to fill in the world, maybe new objects to go with them. This is going to be great. The Taigia village would be cool, I hope it's not limited to PE.

Why are guinea pigs called guinea pigs when they are neither pigs or from guinea?

Really this annoys me because I don't see anything wrong with it, and also I think that many people are afraid that it is actual "Auto-Jump" as in can be used for parkour. (Which it is not) Also, its toggle able. So really, just turn it off if you hate the idea of being able to travel better now.
I'll turn it off as soon as I update. I stopped using it on PE because it started driving me nuts.

I have nothing against this feature being added, but I don't think I'll use it. I have to wonder though...is this a feature that servers can control whether it is on, off or optional? I can see this having advantages especially in PVP and at that point even if it's optional it becomes the only way to play or be at a serious disadvantage. It also makes the horse a little less valuable, not saying it makes horses worthless, just that it will be one less advantage that horses have now, thus devaluing them just a bit.
I wanted to make a 1.10 rumours thread, but it got locked.... unfortunately.
But yeah, if they (Mojang) are going to add auto-jump, how about they consider void fog (with option, of course).

I mean, I feel it's stupid, but since it's so easy to do and it's optional it can't be that bad. However, as already stated, it should be toga label by servers as I bet some shrewd people would probably find a way to exploit somehow with this. Also I wonder how this would be activated, maybe by holding space for like 5 seconds?

So.. How do I sign my device?
Havent played this game in 1 year... so much new stuff...

I assume it means you can run right up a hill without jumping manually, just like riding a horse is now.
Not quite. Horses "step up", meaning they don't jump at all to go up 1 block, they just slide up like a slope. It's the same way players can walk up half slabs or stairs without jumping. Usually it's dependent on the height of the mob, so Endermen and Iron golems are able to go up inclines without jumping. Horses are an exception as in they are programmed to do so without being much higher than the player.
Auto jump doesn't work like that though, is still a normal jump. It detects if the players is about to walk against a block and automatically jumps for them if applicable as if they pressed space. It is no different than pressing space to jump up, except the game does it for you.
If you want to see how it works, fire up the Windows 10 edition and there's an option to turn auto-jump on.

They already can. Nether portals also teleport entities, remember?
Figured it was time for a change.

That's a bad thing for Minecraft's development. I'm not waiting another year for another update!
Oh yeah and a minor update doesn't take a month to develop.

Careful, you're contradicting the end of your sig!
I kind of figured the 1.9 patch was distracting them. They've zeroed in on some of the bigger issues and are trying to knock them out.
We already got some great stuff for 1.10 being considered and it hasn't been that long.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
When I said 'minor', I was talking about 1.9.3.

Sadly it seems like people are quite mad about this addition/port...
Auto jump is now a feature ported from MC:PE

Out of everything that could be ported, why that?
What does auto-jump mean? Does it mean that when you hold down jump you'll just keep hopping?
If you are planning to make a suggestion, please read this.
If you want to know more, you can read this.
For those who complain about post-Beta generation, you might want to see this.
Auto-jump makes you jump if you move to a block (semi-like moving on slabs/stairs).
Because it's easy to add and there should be no complaints because it's optional.
I for one like the idea of being able to climb mountains without constantly mashing space.
I have nothing against this feature being added, but I don't think I'll use it. I have to wonder though...is this a feature that servers can control whether it is on, off or optional?
