Oh ok, so it observes block states? Its a bit confusing IMO using a similar texture to dropper/dispenser. I see where they wanted it in a quartz texture and I think thats a good idea, perhaps make the eyes look like redstone also instead of holes.
Having never used BUDs myself, I have to wonder what's going to come of this.
For starters, it'll likely make redstone machines more compact. And it'll also make redstone easier to learn. But this is coming from someone who doesn't really know redstone.
A BUD block? Amazing, I never thought they'd do that. It'll be interesting to see how it works.
I thought they would. It's been part of the wiki's list of features Mojang said they would add for years.

So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...

It's gonna be cool. I mean, not that BUD switches are that hard to make, but this will compress circuits by a ton. Although, I wonder if it's like the new repeating command blocks where if you put a source a power behind them, they'll always be active, or like any other Redstone circuit. If it's the latter of the two, it could actully not be as great. Also, they should turn that frown upside down on this block!

Havent played this game in 1 year... so much new stuff...
4 years ago, I started played MCPE/Minecraft in general. Now, I have MCPC, and I'm still not bored of the blocky sandbox indie. Cuz awesomeness! Got a problem with that?
New textures for structure block in 1.10 and structure block now can access for everyone and now used for mapmakers and minigames (i saw at Searge message)
My guess is end light rods. Perhaps he's playing with adding different orientations?
The textures on those structure blocks is really good. Do those symbols make sense though from a practical viewpoint? I don't really understand exactly how they work.

I doubt it's end rods, the way it's shaped would be near-impossible to create without maybe making some insane illusion effect.
If I remember correctly, structure blocks originally were able to highlight a certain area selected by players in an outlined box to do whatever they're meant to do with it, so maybe the white outline back there is just that.

It wouldn't make sense for it to show an outline all the time. At what point would the structure placement be finalized and the outline go away? I really don't understand how these work at all. How does it even know what structure to place within the bounds? There are coded instructions involved I assume, but how does the code know which structure blocks to use if there are multiple sets?
[edit] Are they like command blocks where they contain the structure coding within themselves?
Structure blocks do outline the selected area that will be written to a structure file, so I'm guessing that's what the white is. Basically structure blocks are like /clone but they use blocks with nbt parameters and you place one at each corner and it copies it to an .nbt file.
This is how they were able to make the end cities really complicated without having to code all that fancy architecture.
I've done a lot of experimenting with the current structure blocks and I've never been able to do anything with them. It seems that Mojang did something to disable them when they were done using them. Maybe they're making them usable for modders now? If that's true then we could see something similar to the .schematic files.
EDIT: I just realized that white square is around another nether stronghold. Could this mean mojang is revamping nether strongholds to use the new end city technology?
And also, what does jeb mean by it being the second "game editor" block in 1.10? Is there yet another new block?
Hmm.. I I'm not actully seeing that much of a use for the structure block because a. It's 5:00 in the morning or b. It seems to do the exact same thing as clone, and has the same max area as /clone. However, Jeb says that it can be used to move structures between worlds in the Reddit thread between worlds.
Edit like 1 minute later: Well, I think the answer to why are these so unoriginal is a, because when I read further in the thread, these structure blocks can be used to mirror and rotate blocks. Cool!

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
Regardless if it's going to be added or not, it's criminally adorable.
Figured it was time for a change.
My thoughts exactly... ^.^
Has anyone figured out what the Observer is for? It seems a bit bulky for redstone machines.
It's a BUD detector for PE
The Observer is not amused.
Having never used BUDs myself, I have to wonder what's going to come of this.

Why only for PE though?

Let this tell you that I'm not a noob.
And I'm not a 6-year-old whinger either.
I wonder what that square in the background is...
Wait for time
In the break of new dawn
We will never meet

The first game editor block is the command blocks
Maybe for that puzzles with Searge they showed it.
Seriously, I think those designs are really cool. But I play Survival, so I will just cry.
