I use that, barely increases FPS. And yes, I know that, but it barely makes any sense. Why use an armor stand for something that you can make pretty much anything?!
Well it goes way beyond that actually. You can use it as a dummy player. Literal dummy testing. Because its an entity and not a block.
Oh btw on another note. You can make moving ships. its a work in progress but its getting there. That I actually have a video of.
Ok, that makes 14 new blocks altogether (if you count the fact that the sponge is usable now). Variants aren't new blocks fyi. All they literally have to do is copy, paste, rename a new variant under, let's say, the stair class and then hue the stairs red and a 'new block' is created. It's not really a lot of work.
Oh btw I think the lag issue could be because people arn't using the updated java. Mojang is making their own so we won't have to worry about it.
People have 64-bit java that is fully updated and are still having problems. The lag isn't because of people not updating java. It's Mojang's code. The new launcher is a pointless update, since most people's PC automatically prompt you to update it anyway. Why do I need a launcher for something that is already for the most part automatic.
I don't really care if they add the launcher, or not to be honest, but what bothers is that Mojang thinks that this is going to be a quick and easy fix to the lag. They are taking time to make this pointless launcher that isn't going to fix the problem when they could be fixing the broken parts of their code instead. They should really start listening to those bug reports.

Check this out;
Compare this to this. Each amounts to about one year of work. Notice how many more features are in one than the other. Notice how one is eight major versions, while the other is only one. Notice that creative was added and survival was totally rebalanced in the one with more content. This isn't being ungrateful, this is a fact; there has been less content this year than any other year before it.
I just want to say that the quality of 1.8 is "in the ender eye of the beholder." Some people like to take time to make maps, creation projects, or redstone, while others are just interested in adventuring in the adventure map, admiring the creation project, and enjoying the redstone. 1.8 just happens to include things for the gamers that like to take their time to make things. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't hate on 1.8 just because the update didn't meet your gaming needs. Cut Mojang some slack and try to put yourself in their shoes. They're trying to please everyone, so you're bound to have to go through some things you might not enjoy.
Mojang is a great company who makes great games. Try not to hate on them the second you see something that doesn't fit your "needs".

Did you count the blocks used for adventure maps such as the invisible obsidian?
Here is to all you people out there who need proof that 1.8 was a pretty big update.
What I don't get about all the people hating on 1.8 is what did you want it to be? What do you wish was added in 1.8 instead of what was added? Because everyone's complaining about 1.8 but no one's explaining what they wished for it.
And Yes Banners Are Considered Blocks, It Specifically States They Are Non-Solid Blocks. And Yes I Know There Are 52 Here, But I Forgot To Add Banners To The Previous List.

Couldn't you just have edited the previous version instead of making a new post?

I forget the red sandstone stuff in my comment, but there's only one banner block. Otherwise you have to add in a few hundred more considering the various color and pattern variations. Block inflation.
IT ONLY TOOK THEM 9 MONTHS, STOP SAYING IT TOOK A YEAR WHEN IT ONLY TOOK 3/4 OF ONE.
1.7 came out roughly in October 20th give or take 1.8 came out in September 2 that's 10 to 11 months (depending on what you think) but if you want a better version of 1.8 which was supposed to fix many issues to make the game playable you had to wait till Nov 24..
1.7 to 1.8 took 83% to 92% of the year thats not 3/4 of a year face palm
then if you count 1.8.1 the real version of 1.8 (for the fact that it supposd to make the game less laggy) then you had to wait 13 months of 108% of the year yes i did make a percent over 100 i am bad haha

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

When they released 1.7, they kept working on bug fixes for 5 more versions. The first snapshot that would be included in 1.8 came out in january, a month before 1.7.5, which is 9 months before the official 1.8 was released. You can't use 1.7 release as the start of 1.8 development, because it wasn't.
Then take away weekends, leaving 6 months and 3 weeks of actual work days, divided among 3 games.

Yeah, but if you would have checked you facts, you would know that they didn't start the 1.8 snapshots until January! And 1.8 came out in September, so 9 months

I like how he lists every different color of banner as if it's a different block. There's only one banner block.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
