If a new car rattles, stalls, and falls apart the owner doesn't have to be an automotive engineer to have a right to complain about the shoddy construction and poor materials.

Yes. cause I totally spread gold bars on my toast...
You named one bad thing, out of an update with something ~100 new features. Can you be more specific?
The rabbits look retarded, enchanting went from being exp oriented to item oriented and got rid of the fun use of anvils and enchant books, added foods that sound like their from some dumb suggestion thread (because the new foods are redundant) and making villages became even more complicated.
hah! ~100 new features! You mean 88 new commands, some blocks, some useless animals, a new structure and a display for armor. It seriously took them this long to do this? We all know why, because they're working on the API at the same time.
That's the best way to take forever, work on features and bugs while rewriting entire engines.
Nonsense. As buyersof a product, we don't have to adjust our criticism on the basis of how hard it is to makea product. If my car breaks, I am within my rights to complain even if I have not the SLIGHTEST idea on how to fix a car. I paid for it, after all.
You wrote "I want you to go write several thousand lines of code that perform advanced light calculations, then get back to me when you finish that part of the update, much less everything else they added" --- so you are "challenging" someone to do an impossible task unless that person is a professional coder, which the average user of MC is not.
If you are now backtracking on that position, then you're a coward. But either way, to only allow coders who can "write several thousand lines of code" to have an opinion when code breaks is nonsense.
And, as I said, if you don't like people criticizing other people, then feel free to go create a race of beings that don't criticize each other. Good luck with that.
Okay, well I see I will get no intelligent responses from you anytime soon, merely bad reading comprehension skills, and a needlessly rude attitude. Just like the majority of these forums, I am done here

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.

Hey, if someone wants to complain about something they brought then they are well within their rights to do so (even if it could be done in a more grammatically correct way).

I am personally quite satisfied with 1.8, except for the fact that it is full of bugs. Just waiting for 1.8.1 or 1.8.banana to solve most of the bugs then, I am pretty satisfied. I got an overall fps increase, even more than 1.7 optifine. So, I am pretty pleased overally.

The rabbits look retarded, They're wild, not domestic. enchanting went from being exp oriented to item oriented You need both. and got rid of the fun use of anvils and enchant books, How? added foods that sound like their from some dumb suggestion thread (because the new foods are redundant) and making villages became even more complicated. So you LIKE stupid squidward people?

That's the best way to take forever, work on features and bugs while rewriting entire engines. Optimization is importent. Take Rust Experimental for example. It works, but it's poorly optimized as of now.And if they don't fix them, the game will get worse and worse.YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY PLAYER. THESE THINGS HAVE TO BE DONE.

Hm... you named 5 things. Even then thats an extremely small amount, even if there were only 88 new features. I just went over the update list, and counting every new feature, there actually is close to 100 features added in 1.8, not even counting any bug fixes. Next time you complain about something, at least have a legitimate reason for it.

Yes, just yes. I don't care if they're wild, they still look like a blind first graders project, if she managed to know what a rabbit looked like. And if you want to make your own Villages, everything becomes more complex just to make a working thriving one. And so true on the features part.

Are you serious? The rest of those aren't really features. Every single one of the five things I mentioned ruin a large portion of the game for me. Being able to put buttons on ceilings isn't going to be making me beg to continue playing the game.
You seem to be looking at this from a very narrow numerical point of view. I mean sure, you yourself can say the update is grand if you don't have a problem with the things I mentioned, but they make me want to stay in 1.7.
When it comes to bugs, it's about what they effect and how many are left, it's not about how many they fixed. Hell, they used to spend a week or two before releasing each major update to fix most or all of the major/annoying bugs. We're getting used to accepting mediocre additions to the game. In my opinion, instead of even doing 1.8 they should have solely focused on the API because the amount of junk they added far outweighs anything to be legitimately gleeful about.
Once you think about it, the only 'major additions' to 1.8 were the rabbits and the underwater temples. Just look at 1.2, they added jungles, ocelots, redstone lamp, iron golems, enchants for bows.. and when you look at any other major update they'll have a list about that long. Considering how long this update took, they should have added about 20 major things. Minecraft is burnt out.

I'm starting to think you are trying to find reasons to complain.

The five things you mentioned are all subjective. To me, the rabbits look fine. Experience did not become item oriented, it merely added a cost, with a preview of what you'd get to balance it. And the thing about enchanted books... what? Please work on your grammar. And the new food items are only trying to make minecraft more realistic. i remember when everyone was complaining that sheep didnt drop mutton when they should. now that they do, people say that minecraft is now too easy. So which is it? Do you want mutton or not? You're confusing me. And how have villages become more complicated? villagers now collect and replant crops, and cobble spawns under gravel are the only village updates i can find. How does that make anything any worse?
About the bugs, mojang put near the bottom of the update list, in some way or another, "Many many bug fixes". They may not have spent weeks devoted entirely to fixing bugs, but at least they did fix some. Be grateful for once that your minecraft is a little less buggy.
Lastly, concerning the "Big additions", that term is completely subjective. without a standard definition you and i could debate its meaning for weeks upon weeks. and about the time it took to make this... Do you know what happened at mojang while they were developing 1.8? Do you know what it took to code what they were implementing? do you what notch and jeb had going on in their personal lives? Do you know what they did to fix the bugs? I would think not. Therefore, you have no right to put a time limit on updates. Think before you complain.
