i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife,big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
only if they want to shoot themselves in the foot..
now i do understand that the New 3ds is more powerful so it could run minecraft but what happens with the Old 3ds owners like me? just saying oh you have to get the new 3ds to play minecraft on 3ds. now i have a 2ds and i would not be happy and not a lot of people would want to upgrade for just minecraft
and my second point is how powerful is this new system? i would like to know its specs compared to the old 3ds and ps vita
and my last point is, who would even consider that little tiny button a second analog stick its so small and to every one who complained about how small the vita sticks were now should take it all back
You realize there's already exclusives lined up for the new 3DS that will only run on that version, right? Like the Xenoblade Chronicles port.
The 3DS was already about as powerful as the original Wii, making this version of it something between Wii and WiiU.
So what happens to original 3DS owners? You upgrade. So far the announced price in Japan translates into about $180 for the XL version. Which is actually cheaper than the original 3DS XL launched at. Usually trade-ins for the original versions will increase for the first week or two of the new launch, I expect a 3DS XL will trade for about $70-$80 just like the 3DS did when the 3DS XL came out.
This is less an upgraded 3DS more a stealth launch of a new handheld, it was just so close to the original that they didn't bother calling it something new. But this new 3DS is to the current 3DS as the Gameboy Color was to the original Gameboy. "Technically" the same console, but it had a stronger CPU, better battery life (which this new 3DS does as well), and had exclusives that would only run on that version.

ya i knew about the already said exclusives but there not my style of game (i only play the Mario games on my Big N systems)
next i do not think that the first 3ds was as powerful as a wii i thought it was a bit weaker, and next so it will be about on par with the vita maybe weaker maybe more powerful. and does that mean cross-play between this system and the wii u cause that would be awesome. (really love the vita/ps4 cross-play )
next but i like my 2ds a lot (it by far has the best feel when playing games out of all hand held love it)
tell the 9th gen of consoles i said hi lol

Nintendo outright said that the 3DS (current) is on par with the Wii. They had to clarify because people were so uncertain. But is is capable of better shaders, and can give the ILLUSION of being stronger (which is why games like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate look better on 3DS than they did on the Wii).
So since the original is confirmed by Nintendo to be on par with the Wii, the new one is therefore stronger than the original Wii. By how much?? That much remains to be seen.
Taken from an interview with Miyamoto:
IGN AU: The 3DS' power seems to exceed that of the Wii in some ways graphically, and it also incorporates the gyroscopes and the motion control. In that way, it's almost like having a Wii in your hand. From a business standpoint, do you see it as a threat, or do you see it causing a tapering off of Wii sales inadvertently, by introducing this new handheld?
Shigeru Miyamoto: We're not really worried about it, and primarily it's because the types of things, the types of play that you can do on a portable device is pretty different from the types of things you're able to do on a home console, and so it doesn't really concern us. I guess from a graphical standpoint it is true that the shaders that we've implemented into the Nintendo 3DS hardware, from a certain perspective, it can appear as if the graphics are stronger, but they're really a little bit more in balance I think.
That last bit is the important part. He is saying that the two consoles are basically on par with one another, but the newer GPU gives the 3DS better shaders so it can seem stronger, while it actually isnt.
Actually, this would be great to play on the Wii U , maybe the gamepad could show your inventory and stuff. But, I really doubt it's going to happen. Hype over nothing, really.

Which is a shame, really. I think it'd be better on WiiU than Xbox or Playstation.
The Gamepad just seems like the perfect controller for a console MineCraft.
Soon to come: Minecraft for the Oculus Rift and the GameCube.
I've also heard rumors of Minecraft coming to GameBoy.
Oculus Rift: That would be pretty cool.
GameCube: Not really a good idea, gamecube has lost popularity.
GameBoy: The device will explode, Minecraft is too powerful.
am sure most of you have heard or even seen the news of how Microsoft wants to buy mojang not its not confirmed yet but it is looking true neither side has said anything to put the rumors to rest and both have been very quite on twitter the last little while, now if this is true and the deal does happen then i would say the chance for minecraft wii u and 3ds would never happen i mean if this does happen i hate to think what will happen to the PlayStation versions of the game. (another reason is when this thread was talked about and the rumors where around Nintendo sounded like they wanted to have a lot of control over minecraft on there systems which if the deal does happen i doubt microsoft would allow that)
but one last thing to every one saying that the wii u/3ds would have the best crafting ways with the touch screen just to say but what about the vita its got touch screen too

Microsoft made it clear that they will continue to support the game, even on competitors consoles. They said the Xbox will likely only get timed exclusives.
And the reason why the Vita version would suck is....who the hell even owns a Vita? Seriously, that thing sold worse than the original PSP. If they wanted to make a lot of money, and quickly, 3DS is the way to go for handhelds. I honestly think the ONLY reason it's on the Vita is it was easy to simply port it from the PS3 version.
Not only that but the Vita touch screen is the same screen as the display. The reason why the 3DS/Wii U one would be superior is gameplay could remain on the top/TV screen while inventory management/crafting could be on the bottom/gamepad at the same time.
I like the idea of Minecraft coming to the 3DS.I personally can't speak about the Wii U because I don't own one currently but I think it would be great of the 3DS because of portability and with the dual-screens, the bottom can be the inventory and the upper portion could be the world view. I'm currently in China and I can't view the video but I support Minecraft coming to the 3DS.
I agree. I'd buy it if it came out on 3DS. Hopefully it'd be less laggy than the console and pocket edition. None of it will ever compare to the pc version in my opinion but still great options for when you're away from the pc and wanna play. Especially waiting for drs appointments or avoiding family at gatherings because older sisters suck.

Being all mean with my Minecon 2013 knowledge, but at one of the panels someone asked whether or not Minecraft would come to the 3DS and they said that it wouldn't. However, he did only specify Pocket Edition coming to 3DS, so if you want to be stupid and think that a PC equivalent would come ot the 3DS/Wii U you can do that

What's wrong with it? It's a great idea. Especially with 3DS (or New 3DS, being more powerful and having better graphics) with the hotbar and inventory on the bottom screen and the rest on top. And who wouldn't like to see this game in 3D... well, it seems that not many people like 3DS's 3D, but I love it.
As for Wii U, it would be a nice way to carry around a big screen console version, though I don't know the power comparison between it and Xbox 360 or PS3.

Let's do some math.
1/3 = 0.333...
1/3 * 3 = 1
0.333... * 3 = 0.999...
1 = 0.999...
1 - 0.999... = 0.999... - 0.999...
0.0...1 = 0
0.0...1 * 10... = 0 * 10...
1 = 0

Proof about Pocket Edition?
