What I don't understand is: with multiple game version profiles, what is the big deal about the updates?
If someone doesn't like a particular update, then they don't have to update!
If they only like certain features from one update, but not some of the features from another, that is their own problem. Can't have it all in life right?
AND if they do have it all, outside of Minecraft, then they are rich and spoiled! They might want to consider making their own game to their liking, with every idea they could imagine.
I generally enjoy reading the walls of complaints, and fits. I can always use a good giggle, and shrug and say "whatever".

There's also people who simply refuse to use mods no matter what just because they "spoil" the game as it was "intended to be", no matter how bad the changes are and even if said mods simply revert or backport features (e.g. if I mod caves in 1.7+ so they generate exactly the same as they did prior to 1.7, which is still vanilla in the sense that the game was like that at one time). Part of this may be due to "vanilla purism" although multiplayer, which requires that you update if the server you play on does, is another factor, but I've seen people complain about singleplayer as well.
I don't even pay attention to the news on upcoming updates anymore; anything that I know about 1.9 is only what I've happened to read in other threads, and for a while I thought that some were just suggestions since I first saw them mentioned in the Suggestions forum (as ways to improve them, not add them). I only downloaded the 1.9 snapshot to see if they "optimized" it (e.g. see this thread), with the only other thing I checked being whether they improved the world customization (i.e. so I could actually play vanilla on a version later than 1.6.4, barring additional changes; even if I can mod the game myself this is still limited by the fact that MCP is taking longer and longer to update, not to mention the 1.8 version of MCP is broken in that modding certain classes crashes the game when I try to run it outside of MCP).
Not that I've gotten bored with the game; if anything, the opposite, with new personal "records" set just recently.
So, sorry if I didn't get the gist, you don't like it when others can't accept changes to Minecraft? I'd have to agree with you there. I hate seeing rant posts saying how Minecraft was ruined by updates.
So for me, I'd just as soon delete this profile if I
could.
Well, you may not be able to delete the profile, but unless someone has tied you down to a chair, and is forcing you to read the forums, or wherever else is making you depressed, then you have complete control over your own well-being.
Why would you let it depress you? Just stop reading the forums.
It is kind of like me, I hate the media here, so I hardly watch the news.
1. They don't ruin anything. Any developer worth anything (Notch is not in this category) will ignore idiots and only listen to the criticism that makes sense. If this were not the case, Minecraft would have ended years ago.
2. They don't stop anything. See above.
3. Most people have reasons for not liking the change that have nothing to do with the fact that it's change. The majority have legitimate reasons not to like parts of 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, or any other version. Calling them all whiners who hate things because "chain?" Not productive, not true, and makes you a target.
4. Hating on hate for the sole reason that you hate hate isn't productive. Instead, push people into refining their hatred into criticism, suggestions, or other useful things. People will always hate, but if you can get them to use it productively there's no force more powerful.
5. If you ever find somebody not giving you a reason for their hatred, call them out on it. If they refuse, or have no adequate reason, laugh at them to their face and move on with your life. Laughing is preferable to stirring up more hatred with these rants, and it makes them show just how awful they are.

The difference between mods and vanilla is comparable to the difference between a story and fanfics based on it. Mods can be fun, and can even be better than the original material, but they aren't... canon, if that makes sense. The original material gets more... respect? Justification? Because it is canon.
You kill creativity. Kill gaming. Kill joy. Take some prozac and chill. I find the fact that you put those two sentences together in a single paragraph ironic.
...GROW DOWN! You overthinking these things is NOT REQUIRED! Apparently, it's not required for you either.
...there are still hundreds of people just shouting their mouths off, trying to get attention. Uh-huh. Not being a hypocrite there.
Look, I don't mean to take apart your sentences. Wait...no, yeah, I do. Because YOU'RE OVERREACTING. You have to understand that there's every type of person in the world. Thus, making what you said kinda redundant. Because the only people who are gonna click on this are the ones that agree with you...usually. Think about it: why would the people you're pointing paws at look at your OP and think "hmm...maybe that guy's right. Maybe I AM an idiot".

If this thread verges more on the fence of flame baiting or calling out other members/youtubers on insult it will be locked. If you can not discuss things calmly and without the overly negative comments then please do not post at all.
So this will be my second rant post ever and I gotta say that nothing quite gets under my skin than seeing perfectly
good ideas and even fun added features that just seem to draw out the "drr" in droll. I have really honestly had it
up to here with this garbage. There is no reason to cry and pout like a 3 year old just because you don't like something.
This neanderthal approach to try and get your way is extremely annoying and truly inhibits creativity which by the way
is a de-evolutionary step. Some people have a point in certain things yes and it does not need to be drug out any more
than that.
You kill creativity. Kill gaming. Kill joy. Minecraft is not the only game to suffer from this. There have been numerous
games that were ruined simply because of these types of people. Everything ranging from back to Super Mario all the
way up to today. There have been countless games that have been shelved due to overly critical sloathes that do nothing
but focus on negativity. Take some prozac and chill.
Returning to minecraft there are always going to be "those ideas". You know the ones, guns, cars, herobrine etc. But when
the going gets tough out come the nay sayers. It has been pointed out that these people tend to go from one end of
the spectrum to the other and back again. Updates always seem to inspire this behavior along side inventive ideas.
Contrary to your belief the game is NOT going to be RUINED just because you want TO STAY IN YOUR LITTLE BOX!!
Granted someone is always going to shake your little box but it isn't just for you. Stop ruining games for everyone else
and let creativity blossom! I really, truly cannot express that enough.
Then you get the minecraft themers oh dear God help us all once that enters a subject. Wah Wah! I dun lick da chain
mack chain go way. cant stan chain. Wah! GET OVER YOURSELF!! HONESTLY! Are you that jouvenille? GROW UP
or in some cases GROW DOWN! You overthinking these things is NOT REQUIRED! JUST STOP! I know I have had enough
of the garbage.
I can tell you that yes I was disappointed in the xbox updates but that isn't because of change. Its because we were
promised things and then no delivery on said promises. But when we are talking the standard pc version I see nothing
wrong with it but yet there are still hundreds of people just shouting their mouths off, trying to get attention.
Everyone knows that just one negative comment can flare into a metaphorical forest fire of hate. Its only natural for us
as humans to follow negative behaviors over positive ones. You may ask "so why isn't everyone killing each other?"
and my answer to this is because we are. Not in a literal sense everywhere, all the time. But a quick glance at any
news station will reveal many tragic occurances most often overshadowing happy events.
So theres my rant for the month. Hopefully we can crack some minds open but if not thats cool.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
It's the cycle of life, man you can't always mess with it, or it'll mess with you.
And by that i mean, people will complain over anything and everything.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

right on the button baryonic_lord.
It really has gotten too depressing for me anymore. I try and I try with people but I just cannot seem to get through.
Personally I am already on the verge on giving up on games. Minecraft just does not offer any challenge and since
playing it I have developed a strong disliking of most other games. So for me, I'd just as soon delete this profile if I
could.
I'm glad that the few who have responded agree with me. I just got too much going right now and half of everyone
just ignores me anyways so who cares right? near as any of you can tell is that I am electronic blips on your screen
that just so happen to form words.

Hating hate is a pointless thing to do. It is human. Humans tend to hate things.
I post pretty rarely nowadays. Gosh, I wish this place weren't so... empty...
