$20 is too much. In all truth, $10 is probably too much as well, although if I really liked the server I might, MIGHT, spend about $10.
I'd say the perfect price is around $5. It's an easy little micropayment that I imagine would be bought by more than double the number of people who would buy a $10 package.
If you're trying to work out how to price your server, remember that people will spend one hundred $1 bills before they'll spend even one $20 bill. And never make a monthly subscription thing. Ever. People have difficulty justiying them.
I completely agree.
You know, I've noticed that on the internet, $10 seems a lot more expensive than in real life. For example, if I saw a game in the store for $10, I would think, "Wow, what a deal!" (since a lot of games are quadruple that). But if I saw the same game on, let's say, the App Store, I would be appalled at the cost. That's probably because when we go to a store, we feel like we have actually bought something, since we can hold it and whatever, but when we buy a program, it's not tangible so it's harder to feel the same satisfaction.
I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
Donating can not give you perks in accordance with Mojang's EULA. Any bonuses given by the exchange of hard currency (real money, not in game) must only be asthetic items such as coloured names or reskined classes. If there is any way of buying items which give you an advantage on the server over non-paying members, including the purchse of soft currency (in game money) with hard curreny (real life money), then that server can be shut down by mojang in accordance to their EULA.

Now.....even though ALL prices that give you things that are beyond cosmetics are against the Minecraft EULA, personally, anything above $50 is too much to me.

Yea, about all prices giving you things beyond cosmetics
The EULA says that servers can not sell things that give the player gameplay advantages for "hard currency" (real money). But, they can give players cosmetic changes and stuff that do not affect gameplay for hard currency.

Nope... 10,000 gone
Wow.............Just saying....that seems like a waste of money even if the server DIDN'T get shut down!
And.....you must be rich...
