hmm well you did say you were trying to test your building skills so I should probably say something detailed but not huge. soooooooooooooo huge tnt pyramid is out.
How about you try and not be rude and tell him what he actually should do to improve, rather than being inconsiderable and showing what you can do instead.

For an explanation on what Randell was probably going to say if his ego and rudeness wasn't in the way, what could make the house better would be adding more detail by having a steeper roof, experimenting with different sized and shaped windows, and adding more decor such as flower pots, a path leading to the entrance, a mailbox using a player head and fence, ec.
The building itself IS the most important part in a building, but adding detail and objects around it can change the meaning of what you built entirely, such as adding some detail and decor can change a simple house to a farmhouse, a forest with lots of flowers and vegetation, a spooky deadland, or whatever you want it to be!
I'd replace the cobblestone with a different building material. A light-colored wool or stained clay would be my first suggestion. If you want a stone color, brick or smoothstone usually look better.

Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
Don't judge me, as I am the god of minecraft medieval style! Lmao jk, Im just tired of all these freaking crappy builders man
To be honest, that was rude. I am still developing. I find your answer harsh and immature. however, thanks to rest of people who gave me ideas I will surely try to do them
Creeper apocalypse-proof house. You've seen those "I would survive X days in a creeper apocalypse" sig pics, right? Well make one that would survive indefinitely.

A wild opinion appeared! Everybody freak out and start insulting each other because you don't agree with it!
It could use a bit of work, it needs to have more detail, as Japanese temples usually have an extreme amount of it. Perhaps making it bigger, and taller would help?
I want cool, not very big building ideas. I am trying to test my build skills.
try building a tiny village with tiny buildings tiny villagers and tiny zombies.

A normal sized medieval house would be a good start.
Done! it kind of looks weird but I am proud of it.
Here, I'll pitch a few ideas, just pick whatever ya like
-UFO
-Trap house
-Fighter Jet
-Ship (like Assassin's Creed IV's Jackdaw)
-Statue! anything, Steve, Creeper, Endermen
Awesome house dude
You can build anything you want, here is some ideas:
Chinese house (origin of China)
An arena
A watchtower (A good start)
<3
A Japanese temple or perhaps a clock tower? (:
Nice!
+1 on the clock tower, I love clock towers
Build a castle with dungeons with villagers and zombies! That would be epic
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Try building a Mob Arena! Any size is fine, just try to make it look good. Good luck!

I'm almost completely inactive, in case you're trawling through really old threads and notice me somewhere.

I am done with building the japanese temple!

if you're so sick of crappy builders, then why are you still building?
