It'd be nice to have backpacks for extra storage.
You could have a rail cart with a chest sure, but curvy caves that go up and down and all over the place don't call for such situations.
But a backpack you could carry with you at all times that could give you 20-50% more storage, that'd be nice. Cause there's been many many times where I'd had to leave the caves because I Just simply didn't have enough room cause of all the iron, coal, redstone, gold, etc that I've mined and ended up leaving more of that behind. Then, not always, but sometimes you'll forget where that quite abundant cave of goodies was.
There's many scenarios that you could justify why this may be a good idea for some.
4j studios said horses will be in a later update meaning we will get donkey's which you can place a chest on and carry your stuff with your donkey which you can guide where ever you want.

Hmm... well, hopefully they're easier to guide than dogs.. cause.. dogs are often quite stupid and end up committing suicide off a cliff when you guide them. If that is the case with Donkeys, I'd hate to see them fall down the cliff and then everything in the chest/donkey storage goes kapoot like the donkey did.
I think that's another reason to support backpacks cause.. then there's no risk of losing your loot unless you are the one that falls down and dies.

You ride Donkey's so i don't think you'll be stupid enough to ride a donkey off a cliff.
When horses come in I would think leads would be added too... Therefore anything guided by a lead will follow you. Well things allowed to be attached to a lead. Lead meaning a leash. Can only hope that add that along with horses, otherwise that would be almost pointless to add them if you can not lead them around...><
I do like the idea of a backpack, even if it is most unlikely to get implemented. There would be a lot of programming involved with it.
1. to add a slot for the pack.
2. ID for item, icon, representation in game. (the easy part)
3. Expanding inventory when worn.
Sure it could be done with a simple coding fork, but even that has its' limits to some degree. I can see the coding for the backpack itself being pretty simple, but implementing it is a whole different story. The would have to a function elsewhere in order to be using something like that.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Leads are going to be implemented along with horses. In fact it's already in PC version.
Well unless 4j states that, we don't really know that they will come to xbox, it is still only an assumption that they will come with horses. That is what I meant. Just because it is on the pc does not mean the xbox will get it. It only means the idea of possibly will. 4J is going their own way after the next couple updates or so they have mentioned.
So what we see we will see. It all depends on what the community as a whole would like to see, but not really at the same time. After all they apparently have ideas of their own.:D

Well you said before that you guide them, so I wasn't sure if you meant guide as in they just follow you or you ride them. But since you ride them, I guess that's sort of irrelevant. Good to know.

Why would leads not come with horses? Thats like saying Minecarts will not be updated in Minecraft with rails.

I'd be greatful if I could just have even like 20% of what the pc has.. :/
I like the idea. I hate when you have to leave caves because of being full. This is also useful for exploring the map and being able to take much more supplies with you.
I'm exaggerating?? Maybe you've heard of it? I dunno.
Thats not exaggerating... its quite the opposite. And don't ask somebody sarcastically if they heard a word if you do't know how to properly use it in a sentence.
Well, I've wanted backpacks for quite a while. Yes I know horses and donkeys come with an extra chest for you to store your valuables, but what about when your in a cave? I wouldn't want to bring my horse into a cave with me, it'd be really hard to get out. You also have to think about mobs if you ever planned on taking a horse down into a cave, if it could even fit. So when your down in a cave and you have a backpack it would practically be like having a second inventory, and trust me I've been down in a cave and wished for a backpack tons of times. So yes, I support.

Just make a bigger hole for the horse to get in, no need for 4j to make a new item when we have one that's been made in the PC version on the way.

Well, we got cocoa beans without the jungle, didnt we? We are going to get wither heads without the wither skeletons, arent we?
We got villagers without the ability to trade, didnt we?
If you look back at those things it might be possible that we dont get leads when horses come out, it is more certain that we are going to get them but there isnt anything confirmed so lets hope for the best
You can already carry 1728 things if you're carrying stacks of 64 (not counting the hotbar). That is plenty for me. If I run out of room, I just go empty everything out and come back.

You never know... You don't need a lead to tame a horse do you? lol
