I think he means that you can see a glass block behind another glass block instead of not seeing it. I haven't seen this, but I haven't been working with glass blocks lately.
Yes. This is in reference to when they are placed and still visible. I have a few structures made entirely of glass and they used to look cool. I had to transfer the new update to a USB stick to turn it back to normal.
Anyone wondering how I did this.
Go into settings> storage> all devices> games and apps> minecraft.
I think the update is like 88mb. It is labeled very clearly.
Select it and MOVE it to a USB flash drive.
Exit to home and shut down xbox
Remove flash drive.
Side effects.
Do not connect to the internet. It will only try to update the game. Make sure not to save a game while update is installed. When you remove the update, the save will be currupt and you will be given a random seed and have to start over. I learned this the hard way.
When you go into My Games, and plan to play minecraft, with no internet, there may be a lack of Game Artwork. This is not a bad thing.
Please be careful. Only remove the update. Idk what exactly this all removes, but it fixes the glass block issue.
If you mess up your game, I am not to be held accountable. Always make copies of things you dont wanna lose, in case you lose the original. Its very good to have a backup.
Russ, yes. We thought about doing just what you did, however were quite concerned due to the previous loss of a world we had worked many months on. (a truly tragic loss, which did however lead to us building an even more epic world out of pure vengeance) ("we" being my daughter and I)
We have since saved with the update in place, so I suppose we are stuck with ugly-@ss glass unless this is fixed as a bug in the future.
I'm not all that new to MC, but am a full newb to this forum...do you folks see them ever addressing & fixing such a thing?
BTW, what's the best method for getting good screenshots?
I also had suffered a loss of my favorite world i worked hard on for almost a year. my mistake was that i saved the world with the update activated and then removed the update. but since i saved the game with the update, it corrupted my file in some way. The preview shot is the same from when i last played it, but when i load the world, it gives me a completely new world with nothing but a map. I did have a backup, but it was from 6 months before the loss.
i did try to bring the update back in and load the world, but it still gave me a new world. I hope they fix this soon. i have not been online for two months except to download the monthly free games. i refuse to have such ugly blocks ruin minecraft for me.
if you have a world that you have not save the update with, remove the update and play that world. this should fix the glass issue.
BEWARE OF FILE CORRUPTION AND WORLD LOSS. I AM NOT ACCOUNTABLE FOR THOSE WHO LOSE THEIR WORLD. my instructions are based on my own expieriences
IT IS PROBABLY A GOOD IDEA TO REMOVE THE UPDATE AND START A NEW WORLD. DO NOT RISK THE ONE YOU WORKED HARD ON.
Glass blocks no longer appearing transperant when looking throug them is horrible. Have this awesome stepped lava light source in the top of my pyramid home which just looks ugly now that I can see each block. Hope 4j fix this in next update

I was actually doing some file maintenance on my 360 not too long ago and messed around with this very idea.
It reverts the game to TU8 or TU9 (I didn't check to see if the End was available, which would make the difference between which version the game gets reverted to). The color grade for leaves and grass is gone except for two varieties: the "grasslands" and "extreme hills" colors replace what the other biomes would have had. Jungles are gone, but swamps are in. Swamp water color-grade is also gone. There was a few other things I can't recall at the moment.
In general, this is not a good approach to "fix" the issue. As stated it will corrupt your save file, so instead of having cruddy glass you'll have nothing. The only other option is to play in a new world, but you won't have the newer features you'll have otherwise. Not to mention the debilitating "Silver account" issue will probably be present as well.
The "best" approach is to deal with the ugly glass until 4J puts out a fix (hopefully in the next update).
EDIT: For the record, I have the Downloaded version of the game. It's the same file I originally DL'd in 2012 when the game launched, never been re-DL'd. It seems that TU8 (or TU9) rewrote much the base game and the Title Update file is a compilation of everything since, with a little from before.
I did see passing mention of this in one other thread, but figured it was worth bringing in as a title.
Hoping we get some info on this, and a fix ASAP.
