Is there any chance we could get a texture pack like those sweet sweet realistic texture packs for PC anytime in the near future? Like one with very well-done wood and stone textures and nice clear glass, but doesn't overwork other stuff (plants, animals, wool) too much? Anyone know if anything like that is in the works?
If you're talking about the really, really high resolution ones like this...
Then no. I doubt the Xbox 360 could even run something that high of a resolution in Minecraft. Xbox One could be a different story though. There is a chance they'll eventually make a lower res realistic texture pack for the game but only if there is a demand or want for it. They aren't going to spend the time making one if only a small handful of people want it.

I'm not so sure about that, after all they just release the 'candy' texture pack and I didn't see much call for it. Personally I don't see how they come up with reasoning behind the creation of them. I was reading somewhere recently that the natural texture pack was their number 1 seller in respects to texture packs, and I would think they would aim new packs oriented along that direction. I understand the need to have diversity but honestly I want more along the lines of natural, maybe something like doku, or similar to the many other highly sought after packs people have been asking for.
And yes I know they can't create a clone of a pack, but it doesn't stop them from creating something similar.
I really dont how they decide either. It seems like they gave up on doing Mash Up Packs and I would be shocked if some of those recently released texture packs were requested. There are many on the pc that look pretty interesting, some of which I am sure could work on the 360.
No, not HD, just a better texture pack than what we've gotten so far. Both the city and natural packs are decent but it's as if they weren't well-thought out in many of its aspects (like how in the city pack, many of the colored wool has brick or molded textures that doesn't go well with what many players use the colored wool for--like carpet and pixel art). There's plenty of realistic-style texture packs that would still work on 360 without it being HD, but my question is whether they would possibly put one together for us on 360 before concentrating completely on Xbox One.
I mean, 12+ million copies sold for 360 and we get a Candy texture pack? WTF? Can we haz good realistic texture pack???
