I've done some mass clearing with some TNT near the border of the world. I managed to destroy the blocks one space before the actual border. I can't fill them back in. Any suggestions?
According to the wiki: "Each world is limited to 864x864 blocks. Because the outer-most block is unusable on each side of the map, it is effectively 862x862 blocks that can be used." In other words, if you're familiar with word processors, you've run into the margins and even though you see more paper, you can't type there.
You're pretty much stuck without them now.
The most you can attempt doing is filling them in with either stone, cobblestone, or obsidian using water/lava, but even that is buggy.

I started experimenting. Cobblestone generation is (possibly) the only way.

I find it a rather arduous solution for a gain of really only 1 block on each side of the map. Just fill in the wall of blocks just inside the edge and don't worry about the "holes" in the wall behind it.
Sorry, no suggestions here.

Stay fluffy~

Push blocks in with a piston! Worked for me!
