So i wanted to make a big map designed for SMP and Geo-Political themed servers. I had access to useful data in order to create a map like this, including where biomes, rivers and lakes should be. After a week of processing data and putting them in WorldPainter, i have made my first export of a huge map of (most of) Europe. Now, it was pretty bugged, and a memory leak associated with Forge servers, meant that i had to throw out some of the gameplay elements of this map, including Roguelike Dungeons made by Greymerk, and abandoned mineshafts. Now, after two weeks of debugging, i have finally pregenerated this map using Open Terrain Generator, which allowed me to customize the biomes to my liking, and also added villages and structures wherever it should have been located at. Pregenerating a map made in 1.12 meant that it can be converted to 1.13 and newer versions using Spigot.
The reason why countries like Russia and Ukraine are excluded from this map is because the source of where i got the terrain data from had made one single GeoTIFF file, gigabytes in size of all the EEA-39 countries, which includes all EU countries, along with Norway, Iceland, Switzerland etc. That meant that any additional terrain data, like for example over Russia, had to be downloaded separately in 1x1 degree tiles. That means that hundreds of those files need to be downloaded and added to WorldPainter, and they have to seamlessly integrate with the existing terrain. That's why i excluded them, as it's more convenient than including them in this map.
Now this map is exclusively made for servers, that's because it's simply too large for any singleplayer gameplay, and if you are a server owner, and are willing to use this map in your server, you can add me as a friend on Discord, using this tag: MaRRyyas#3816.
