Good news! I've managed to recover an old save of the map that I was working before it was corrupted! So now, progress has started back up on that map. While slow, the progress is steady, and I hope to release the map within the year. However, with school coming up, I can't make any promises. I'm still deciding if I want this to be my last map, as I do have a small amount of Dawn of Shadow II started. I think I will finish the new map, Dawn of Shadow II, and Sweltering Desert II, and I might maybe possibly make a final map, just to bring the whole series to a close. On top of this I've had a Mini-Killer finished for quite some time (2+ years). It's probably a little outdated, but I think I will release it around Christmas time. So look forward to all of that, and I've updated the Map Progress section.
Thanks for playing,

Standard Rules
1) Find and complete the Wool Monument.
2) Find wool in chests (Fleecy Boxes) or on special boss enemies (Fleecy Mobs) scattered around the map, do NOT use dyes or spider string for wools!
3) You may craft the Iron, Gold, and Diamond blocks.
4) Use at least Easy difficulty, and never Peaceful. (I balance around Normal.)
5) Do not leave the boundaries of the map and go into normally generated Minecraft terrain.
6) Survive in any way you can think of. (Yes, you can mine, craft, and place blocks.)
7) You may use spider string wool and sheep wool to craft beds and other items, but not for the Wool Monument
8)You may not pick up, craft, or move Ender Chests.
Recommended Map: #6: Era of Shadow
WARNING!
Most of these maps were made in Minecraft version 1.6.2. I can't vouch for the playability of the maps in older versions. Also, they all work in 1.7 and up, with the exception of Era of Shadow, so you're welcome to play them in that version, as well.
Maps
#1: Dawn of Shadow
Being the first in the series, this map is very primitive. It still functions and is fully playable, but it has begun to show its age. I may or may not remake this map. For now, enjoy the adventure through winding caves and amazing locales.
This map is being remade, but it won't be released for quite a while
This map is a fairly unpolished one, like Dawn of Shadow. Still, I think it plays great for its age. There may be a bit of unbalancing if you play in 1.7 or up, but it works like a charm in 1.6. You'll explore dangerous caverns and ruined castles in this epic adventure.
Awaken is some of my best work. It follows a pseudo-storyline, and the areas feel like they're more connected to each other than usual. I've been told by a few people that this is their favorite of my maps, and even their favorite CTM map. It uses a lot of randomized loot, from a program written by Kamyu, whose work you can find at the bottom of the thread. In Awaken, you'll be swept away into a beautiful dream, which slowly morphs into a hellish nightmare.
This map has been subject to a lot of controversy. It is an homage to Inferno Mines, Vechs' newest map. It plays similar, but the areas are completely new, so don't think that the areas are the same. I hope Vechs takes this as a compliment, and not a copy. Delve into a series of caves, perhaps settled by a long-dead people, and enter into the Inferno, a place cursed by evil, that the ancient people never dared to touch.
This map is probably my favorite map I've made. It's very loosely inspired by some of Vechs' more basic maps, such as Spellbound Caves, Waking Up, and Legendary. It's a fairly easy map, but it also features amazing areas that are a blast to play. Go deep below the earth, further down than any man has gone before, and discover a beautiful world, filled with spellbinding caves and deadly castles.
This map has brought together everything I've learned about mapmaking so far, and it is fantastic. It is definitely my favorite map, and I can't wait to play it myself. Find yourself lost in a world full of sea monsters and graveyards, and see if you can make it to the end.
WARNING
This map MUST be played in Minecraft version 1.8 and up.
These are shorter maps, with only a few wools to collect. They're meant to be time-killers.
#1: Sweltering Desert
This map took only a few hours to make, but I love it anyways. It looks great and plays great, with very limited resources and surprisingly difficult areas. There is no wood, meaning you can't make chests, so inventory management plays a big role here. The sweat drips down your back as you crawl through the desert. Your only hope of survival is to find the Sacred Wools, your key home.
This map is being remade, but it won't be released for quite a while
This is a remake of my old Grey Scale. The first one looked hidious and was honestly just terrible. This improved version is quite a bit shorter, but much much better. There is a central hub which houses the Wool Monument, and there are four areas that branch out from it. Huge underground caverns, filled with dangers that even the strongest have failed to overcome. Can you pass the tests that so many others have failed?
These maps could range anywhere from PvP maps to survival maps.
Uber-Hardcore Survival
This is a survival map. There is no set goal, but it's fun to see how far you can get. In this one, there is no grass, so food will be scarce. Also, all of the stone has been replace with stone slabs, so stone tools will be difficult to obtain. Iron ore has been replace with cobblestone, diamond ore has been replace with iron, and emerald ore is replaced with diamond. There are clouds up in the sky that house great dangers, but also great reward. Good luck surviving in this uber-hard survival map. (Funny side note, apparently MediaFire censors the word "hardcore" in file names (not sure why *hint hint wink wink*), just thought that was funny)
Type: Survival
Difficulty: Uber-Hard (Not really, probably Hard if you play in non-Hardcore mode on Minecraft)
This is a pack of all the past versions of my maps. They are worse than the ones currently on the thread, so I'm not sure why you would want to play them, but they're here anyways.
You're welcome to LP any of my maps and post it on YouTube, or any other video hosting website, and you are allowed to monetize them. All I ask is that you link to this thread in the description of the video.
Glad you like it! You may want to investigate that wooden post in the castle *Hint hint wink wink*. Also, please let me know of any problems you encounter in the map, so that I can fix them! I'll subscribe, and make sure to watch all of your episodes!
Really? If it's on the download, I just updated the link. Also, you realize that you can die more than once in this map, right? You shouldn't die in the first 3 minutes, if you're good enough
I like the look of awaken. Into the inferno looks like a remake of IM, as apollo said. The rest looks cool. Might have a go at one. Only grey scale looks really bad, sry
No offense but Into the Inferno looks like nothing more than a rehash of Inferno Mines. the others look good though
It's not at all a complete copy, but many areas are somewhat similar to those of IM, but it is a completely different map, and I really urge you to try it.
I like the look of awaken. Into the inferno looks like a remake of IM, as apollo said. The rest looks cool. Might have a go at one. Only grey scale looks really bad, sry
Yeah I know, the Grey Scale is terrible, and I'm probably just going to scratch it or do a remake. Don't play it, I don't want anyone to think that that's what the rest of my maps are like.
Seriously needs some more block variation, and erosion for some maps, definitely more erosion.
With Into the Inferno, I didn't use erosion, mostly because Vechs didn't really in IM (not to copy, but he is sort of the master). As for block variation, that is definitely something I'm trying to work on, it's just really hard to think of unique blocks for each area.
Awaken is the best non-Vechs ( and not my own. ) CTM map I've ever played. I've gotten pretty well established by Intersection 1, and it's pretty well balanced. Maybe a bit heavy on the loot, but otherwise very cool! I see it as a privilege to play this map. Thanks so much, iHav2ManyToes.
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them! Also, Awaken was sort of an experiment with Kamyu's random loot tool, which you should totally go check out. So, it does have quite a bit of loot, but I think the difficulty balances is out pretty well.
