about 3 years ago i started creating a adventure map full of ruins and evilness.
and finally, with all the amazing updates with command blocks, here it is:
custom textures and soundeffects add to the scary and yet beautiful ambient of this entirely custom landscape (created with voxel sniper) filled with a extensive amount of special mobs, heavy spawners and intense scenic events, powerful potions and many custom items (armor suits, weapons and magic tools).
so if you're looking for a REAL challenge - take a look
download size is 25,3mb (incl resourcepack and right server file), runs on release version 14w11b
there's also a separate resourcepack-downloadlink for your supporters, 4,8 mb
screenshots of some cursed ruins and epic views, really just a glimpse of what there is to discover:
Instructions for starting the server with more gbRAM, for Mac and PC:
undefined, start Terminal, type cd, space, drag the folder containing server.jar into the window.
should look somewhat like this:
cd /Users/mymac/Desktop/Adventure_TtL/server_ttl
or for macs with more than 8gb ram:
java -Xmx4G -Xms4G -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
press enter
undefined, create a new textfile in the folder with the server.jar, paste:
java -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
or for pcs with more than 8gb ram:
java -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
save textfile with the ending .bat, like ttladventure4G.bat,
run the .bat file
the questline is set up multiplayerfriendly, although it's doable solo. since hamachi isn't free anymore, it's a little more difficult to set up a multiplayer-server. you would need to open the port 25565 on your router and lock your ip with www.noip.com - which btw is free - or a similar service.
aand i wanna thank the bukkit team and especially the devs of voxel sniper, was a pleasure to use that tool! many thanks to dragnoz, who shares so much code on his yt channel, and many thanks to fontifronk who joined the map creation for several hours, adding ruins and details to the landscape
i added the correct server.jar to the download .rar file. its supposed to be played in 14w11b, may be suitable for newer snapshots. if possible, start the server with 2 or 4g ram. i can give instructions how to, for mac and pc.
yes my first map, but i have some experience in game design / arts.
the map is not perfect, the size of the map would allow to fiddle around for years, but i thought i put it out there now, since i'll begin a further schooling soon.
updated the thread head with infos about how to start the server with more gbRam below the screenshots.and that the serverfile is included in the download and it's version 14w11b, this map was last edited with for now.
Wow, I think I'll actually do videos of this =D But in which version of Minecraft should I play it ? Can you add it to your post, so that it's more clear ? ^^
yea that would be amaizing! plz leave a notice here when you uploaded sth
only the space ship you spawn in is a protected area. the rest is legit survival. with the exception of keepInventory=true for easy recovery. 'cause deaths are inevitable and certain resources very limited (no ores in the land mass for example, only as loot hidden in chests/dispensers.
if you make a map CTM would be great
Thursday I'll take a look at your map
looks amazing
yea, i hope you enjoy the ride!
actually it has quite some similarities to a ctm. but you have to find five "magic" items, to then unlock (a little riddle involving) the path to the final piece to your rescue. but there's only 1 giant landscape with many dungeons, while those 5 items are hidden in only 5 of the harder ones. keep your eyes open for hidden dispensers, as they contain useful items or a hint for a near piece of the puzzle.
i've played the map for quite some time now, wich makes me consider to polish the map up a little more. like scattering more hints, changing some trap mechanics to make them more reliable leathal (although you may be glad if some fail), adding titles instead of some chat messages, adding more cole blocks to torch the map, etc. but due to the few feedback on the map, i'm not that sure if people play it for longer than just 1 or 2 hours, if any, and therefor if it's worth the spare free time i've got now.
let me know what you think, and i'd be happy to make some improvements
thanks a lot
