I was wondering if there is a tool that will allow me to set a boundary and delete everything beyond it? I have a map I worked on for a long time on a now defunct server. I want to use my property and the surrounding terrain as the spawn for a new map. Of course, I want all the new terrain to be th emost modern version of minecraft possible.
Can this be done? If it can, will the newly (re)generated terrain beyond my boundary contain any new stuff from the most recent version?
Thank you so much for reading my request for help! I know it's a lot of effort for something so silly but this village I made means a lot to me. There are a lot of memories in it to preserve, and new ones to build. Pulling it into the future would make me very happy.

MCEdit might help. Just delete chunks and replay for new generation.
Or, copy the chunks you want into a new world.
