Hello Internet, It's me Max and I have recently finished my realistic overhaul of the default lighting.
This resource pack adds nothing to the default textures other than edit the lightmap. The whole point of this resource pack is to make the game look more realistic with a shaders-ish effect. If you are familiar with some of my other resource packs, you may recognize these effects in my "Naturus" resource pack. I originally edited this lightmap for that pack, however, this pack separates the lighting effects from the rest of the features in Naturus, making it compatible with almost every other resource pack. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and feedback is always appreciated. And as always, It would be great if somebody was to do a video review of this pack, It would mean a lot to me
- Vanilla Lighting Overhaul (bright) --> http://adf.ly/1G32gd NOTE: You still need to have your brightness on moody it's just it will seem more bright
FEATURES:
- Yellow Sunlight
- Orange torch/lava/glowstone etc. glow
- Orange/yellow sunset
- Darker Nights
- Darker Caves
- Darker End Dimension
- More red/flamey Nether Dimension
REQUIREMENTS:
- Brightness MUST be set to moody or nothing will work
- You MUST be using Optifine or nothing will work
- It is strongly recommended that you keep smooth lighting on at least minimum for the full effect
COMBINING WITH OTHER PACKS:
One of the great things about this pack, is that it can be combined with almost any other resource pack. Doing this is very simple. You must turn on both the resource packs at once, making sure that my resource pack is on top. If you have any problems, feel free to contact me via private message or simply posting to this thread.
For some reasons the pack doesn't show up in my resource pack selecter in-game. I use Magiclauncher and optifine, so nothing really abnormal that would make the game bug.
but is it possible to smooth the shadow under the tree on the water surface?
Yeah, I've noticed that to. The shadows can be buggy at times. Especially during sunrise/sunset. I'm currently working on making it a smooth transition.
This is the first time I get caught like a noob, by not reading enough.
I humiliated myself T_T
Thanks for answering though.
You should add this precision in your presentation, as decompiling resource pack is something quite uncommon.
EDIT: The resource pack now shows up, but it just doesn't work. The prerequisites are all ok (light set to moody, optifine, etc...) but it doesn't work at all. Is it supported by all graphic cards ?
Hmm this time I have no idea what could be going on... Is it just the lighting that doesn't work, or any of the textures/models
I don't really see what you mean by textures/models not working since this is a resource pack only modifying lighting (I guess ?).
But yes, the lighting doesn't change when I put that resource pack on sadly :c
Well yes, if you read the features list, there are many textures and models that go along with the resource pack. And unfortunately I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. You could go and search around the forums for more help, but I can't really help you on this one.
This is the first time I've stumbled upon something so amazing! Thank you for contributing, friend!
EDIT: nevermind, it doesn't show up in my resource pack selections. But still, good job!
Sorry, I haven't worked on this exact pack in a long time. However, if you like this, you could always go and check out my other pack, "Naturus" which contains an updated version of this lighting among with some other goodies.

i took it out of the zip and installed through optifine and it wasn't working but if i put the zipped file in it would appear. The shader however seems to still not work

Did you take the pack out of the zip file?
Nice pack, liked it!
but is it possible to smooth the shadow under the tree on the water surface?
Yes, the zip file contained the pack and a read_me document. Take out the pack and put it by itself into your resource pack folder.

I'll try it out later. Does your texturepack need extracting or anything in winrar? That might be something I'm doing wrong because I never done that.
