It's my own take on evilmouse's original Tronic texture pack, with textures from other (abandoned) Tronic packs, as well as a large selection of my own content. Hence calling it a remix.
The resource pack is very nearly 100% complete, right up to version 1.10; so it's got horses and clay and stained glass and new flowers and new stones and new ocean stuff and rabbits and new doors and end city things and polar bears and Husks and Strays. There's still a little cleanup to do on some of the gui screens, (and I plan to go over the double-high flowers again), but the pack is very, very playable.
Tronic Remix FullSideGrass Patch v1.1 (snapshot support!)
Enable this resource pack on top of Tronic Remix to enable full-sided grass textures. Remember the BetterGrass mod? This works sort of like that (but not quite). And it works for snowy grass, podzol, mycelium, and grass paths at no extra charge!
Tronic Remix OpaqueLeaves Patch v1.1 (snapshot support!)
Enable this resource pack on top of Tronic Remix to enable the Fast graphics opaque leaves on Fancy graphics settings. Maybe this helps with sluggish fps, maybe you just like how it looks. Either way, I've got you covered.
Installation Guide
1) Download the latest pack from the download section.
2) Run Minecraft, select Options..., select Resource Packs, select Open resource pack folder.
3) Drag and drop the downloaded pack into the resource pack folder.
4) Go back to Minecraft and select the pack and you are done.
To Do List
No timeframe given, of course.
· GUI elements. Inventory, chests, furnaces, etc. Done! Not perfectly happy yet; expect changes.
· Some of the flowers. I'm not 100% satisfied with all of them. Expect changes.
· Connected Textures support - maybe. If anyone asks for it.
· Mod support - again, maybe. Depends on it if I get asked to do it.
FAQ
Q: Why are there no item textures? A: Simple. I suck as making item textures, and all the Tronic-themed items I've ever seen looked bad to me. My suggestion? Enable the pack over another resource pack that has item textures that you like. May I suggest Vattic's Faithful32?
Q: Why are there no fire textures? Original Tronic has fire textures. A: Yeah, and I hated them, so I took them out. Again, Vattic's Faithful32 has great fire textures, in my opinion. So when you overlay this pack on top of Faithful32 (to get those good item textures, remember?) you'll get the good fire textures as well.
Q: I hate this pack and think it looks ugly. I regret downloading it. A: That's not a question. But it's okay to feel that way, it won't hurt my feelings. If you hate a texture, chances are I'm not happy with it either, and am working on a replacement. Expect changes! Unless I like that texture. Then you're out of luck.
Any other questions? Ask and I'll answer.
Usage Guides
Personal Use - Using this pack on your own computer is allowed (of course). I highly encourage it! Modifying textures, merging with other resources packs, and any other modifications are (of course) allowed, so long as they aren't distributed.
Server Default Use - Using this pack as a server default is allowed (of course) so long as this readme remains with the pack without modification. If this pack is merged with other Tronic patches to facilitate this, this readme and each patch readme must be included without modification. If this pack is merged with another resource pack (to facilitate item and fire textures, for instance), this readme must be included without modification, and you must follow each of the other resource pack's usage guidelines.
Let's Plays (and other on-video usage) - Using this pack in your Let's Play or other sort of video (such as resource pack reviews) is allowed (of course). List the pack's name and link to it's Minecraft forum thread in the description. If you need to modify this resource pack for your needs (and wish to put up a link to that modification for your fans), I'll be happy to package and distribute that for you. Contact me at [email protected].
Adventure Maps - Distributing this resource pack as part of an adventure map is allowed. List this pack's name and link to it's Minecraft forum thread in the credits of your map where those credits appear. If you need to modify this resource pack for your needs, follow the Server Default Use guidelines above. I'll be more than happy to help with this process, including packaging a special pack for your map. Contact me at [email protected].
Remixed/Tweaked Packs - Distributing content from this resource pack in your own resource pack (made up of predominately your own content) is allowed, but with conditions. Content that makes up RocketTurtle Originals can only be included in your pack if this pack's name and a link to it's Minecraft forum thread are included in the credits of your resource pack where those credits appear. Contact me at [email protected] to let me know that you've done this. If your pack is made up of predominately Tronic Remix content and a clear minority of your own content, do not repackage and redistribute Tronic Remix (and/or it's patches) in this way. Instead, package your content as separate resource pack that can be enabled on top of Tronic Remix. I can help with this process if needed; contact me at [email protected]. I hold no claim to content that originated in the abandoned Tronic Packs of other authors. I have used that content to my understanding of the original author's wishes, and I encourage you to do the same.
Re-uploading Tronic Remix elsewhere - Re-uploading Tronic Remix or it's patches anywhere is not allowed, unless it conforms to usage guidelines in this readme.
Tronic Remix Behind a Paywall/Paylink - Re-uploading Tronic Remix or it's patches anywhere that yields currency to anyone (who is not me) is not allowed, even it if conforms to usage guidelines in this readme.
The Usual Conditions - I can decide at any time for any reason to revoke any of the usage guidelines in this readme (with the exception of Personal Use) without question or recourse. I won't do that unless there are some pretty unusual circumstances. I can also change these usage guidelines at any time. These guidelines are retroactive (and proactive) to all past (and future) releases of Tronic Remix and/or it's patches.
When to consider Tronic Remix abandoned - Tronic Remix is born out of abandoned Tronic packs, so it is important to consider the day Tronic Remix is itself abandoned. If I cannot be contacted, either at [email protected], Twitter (@RocketTurtleIRL), or through the Minecraft forums within a reasonable amount of time to verify that Tronic Remix is not abandoned, it should be considered abandoned. How long is "a reasonable amount of time"? At least a year, I'd think, but I will leave that consideration to the contactee. If an update to Minecraft has made Tronic Remix inoperable (such as a change to the resource pack format, or the texture format, etc) and I have not expressed an interest in fixing Tronic Remix, and/or cannot be contacted to see if I have an interest in fixing it (as above), then this pack should be considered abandoned. When this pack is considered abandoned, all other usage guidelines (except for The Usual Conditions and Tronic Remix Behind a Paywall/Paylink, listed above) are removed. I still want to be credited for RocketTurtle Originals in derivative works. If I bring Tronic Remix back from the dead, all usage guidelines in this readme are back on.
Credits
evilmouse - for his original Tronic texture pack Dangeresque486 - He made a really great haybale texture. pawcee - I up-scaled some textures from his 16x16 Tronic Jr. pack, which were very nice. RocketTurtle (that's me!) - I've made a lot of custom textures for this pack, and modified a lot of those taken from abandoned packs, so this pack is becoming less of a remix all the time. The ReadMe file in the resource pack has a list of textures I consider RocketTurtle Originals because I've either made them from scratch or heavily modified them.
Did I use some of your textures and forget to credit you? Please contact me and I'll fix that immediately!
In case it is not clear, I've been adding new content to the resource pack as new content has been released, and have been editing the first post. If you have been checking on this tread for new content and haven't noticed, get the updated pack and have a look!
I am very excited to start working on the new blocks and mobs in 14w25a, which I will begin immediately. The prismarine block uses a new NBT tag called 'interpolate' to produce a fading transition effect between texture frames, and I'm looking forward to experimenting with that tag. What blocks to you think could be made more interesting with interpolating textures? Let me know your feedback! If you like the pack, let me know! If you hate the pack, let me know! Well, maybe keep that one to yourself. But criticism is always welcome.
It's a fair point about cribbing Faithful's usage guidelines. I will replace it with a more nuanced set of guidelines. I will more clearly identify which textures I made and which ones come from abandoned packs so that it's clear which ones require permission to use. I really can't claim any credit or ownership on those textures taken from abandoned packs, nor do I wish to try.
It's also a fair point that Tronic has a simplistic style. That's sort of what it's trying to do. Tronic Remix isn't about creating the world's greatest resource pack. It's about making a version of Tronic that works with modern Minecraft at all. Evilmouse abandoned his original pack somewhere around beta 1.3 or so, and others have similarly picked up his work, converted it to the new format of that time, did their best to continue his style as new content was added, and have abandoned their packs as well. I'm not trying to reinvent the style, just keep the thing alive and playable. I enjoy the pack, but then I enjoyed the original pack. It's not for everyone, and I'm okay with that.
I've edited the main post to link to v1.2.3, which adds the new Ocean Monument blocks, sponges (wet and dry), coarse dirt, and the guardians (elder and regular). I had a lot of fun creating the textures for these, and experimenting with the new interpolating texture settings. I'm going through the older textures and seeing if any of them could be improved with a little animation. There is already one animated block in the pack; have you found out which one it is?
I've also added links to some patches that can be enabled on top of the main pack. The FullSideGrass patch adds BetterGrass-style full-sided grass block textures for those that like that effect, and the OpaqueLeaves patch replaces the Fancy graphics leaf textures with the opaque Fast graphics leaf textures. If those sound like good changes to you, head up there and try out the patches.
Here's a few screenshots of the new ocean stuff added to the pack. Hope you enjoy!
I've edited the main post to link to v1.2.4, which adds rabbits (including Toast and the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog).
Also, the alternate textures that came with snapshot 14w27b take effect with non-default resource packs, and this makes Tronic Remix look a little weird. Not necessarily bad, but definitely different than intended. Snapshot 14w28a gives a way to disable alternate textures entirely, which will definitely fix it if you don't like the way it looks. But there are some interesting uses for alternate textures that i would like to explore, so I've created a patch to add in some of my early work (and disable the rotation of landscape blocks). Eventually I'll roll these changes into the main pack, but if I do that now the pack will not work for 1.7.10. The official Minecraft version is the first priority for the pack, so I wouldn't want to break functionality for the sake of snapshots. Would you rather I leave the landscape block rotation in the main pack come v1.8, or should I disable it? Let me know!
Woah, it's been over a month since my last update! What's happened?
I've been working on the resource pack, not to worry. The banners took a week or so, and I feel like I could keep tweaking them for a long time. There are so many interesting banner designs being shown off, and I hate that these 32x textures alter the looks of them, even if only a little bit. I keep fiddling with the textures to try to make sure many of the cool patterns still work, but I'm going to have to just decide to stop tweaking and call it good.
The armor stands weren't too much trouble, but the doors are taking a bit longer. Don't get me wrong, they're all done, but I'm not happy with all of them. Still tweaking. Doing the new red sandstone blocks made me rethink all of the polished stone textures, and the regular smooth sandstone, so I've been tweaking all of these. Hopefully for the better!
The first 1.8 pre-release was released today, so that means there will probably not be any new blocks to texture before the full 1.8 release. My plan at this point is to keep tweaking until 1.8 comes out, and make v1.2.5 of Tronic Remixed be the 1.8-compatible release. I don't have any official information, but it feels like 1.8 will come out next week, barring any big bugs (which don't seem to have cropped up). So I plan to release v1.2.5 next week! Or this weekend, if I finish tweaking early. I don't like how the red sand and red sandstone(s) look sort of pale and pink in the current pack, so I'm trying out different shades of orange-red. Wish me luck!
Minecraft has finally updated to 1.8, so v1.2.5 of Tronic Remix is released! Head up there to the original post and check it out.
I've rolled the Alternates patch into v1.2.5, since it was only split off into a patch to avoid breaking 1.7.10 compatability. In the future, I'll handle snapshot updates to the pack differently, so this won't be an issue going forward.
Also, I noticed that Minecraft no longer uses separate textures for Fast graphics leaves; instead it fills in the transparent parts of the texture on Fast graphics. For Tronic Remix, this means that on Fast graphics the transparent parts of the leaf textures turn black. If that's not your thing, but you have to run on Fast graphics settings, I highly recommend applying the OpaqueLeaves patch, which forces the original opaque leaf textures on Fast or Fancy graphics. Those textures looks much better than what Minecraft creates out of the Fancy textures, in my opinion. In fact, I play with that patch enabled all the time. I like the look that much. Your mileage may vary.
Thank you so much for making this. Tronic Pack has been my favourite texture pack for as long as I've played Minecraft.
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you're enjoying the pack.
So, what have I been doing since the last update? (Has it really be nearly five months?!) Is Tronic Remix dead? No it's not!
I'm still updating textures and preparing a release to coincide with Mojang's official release of 1.8.2. It looks like they're coming to the end of the pre-release cycle, so hopefully that will be soon. The next update to Tronic Remix will be to v1.3, even though it's a relatively minor update. However, v1.3 will become the stable resource pack that will not change until Minecraft 1.9 is completely finished and released, which could be a number of months away. As new blocks and updates are added in upcoming snapshots, I'll update a patch to Tronic Remix v1.3 with that content which can be applied on top of v1.3. This will allow those of you who avoid snapshots to continue to use the pack, and those of you who do play the snapshots can do so with updated textures. Does that make sense? I hope it does.
I'm not waiting to begin work on new blocks as we hear about them, though. Here's a little something I'm already working on.
Mojang released the Minecraft 1.8.2 update today, so I'm releasing Tronic Remix v1.3 as promised! Take a look at the first post for a download link.
This is a minor update to the pack, as expected, but I put a lot of time into it anyway. I've updated the carved red sandstone texture (now with 100% more wither) and tweaked andesite, diorite, granite, and soulsand to have a bit more texture. I found when playing that I was having a hard time telling andesite, diorite, and stone apart when caving. And default soulsand is a very textured block, so I made it more textured in Tronic Remix as well.
Those things didn't take much time to do, it was fixing the weird way textures were applied to trapdoors, doors, fences, and fence gates. I remapped how textures were applied to these models and created new textures when that wasn't enough. And while I was at it, I also reworked how buttons, levers, and tripwire hooks were textured. There are a few more fixes I'd like to do along those lines, so expect more such fixes soon. I hope you like the results!
Edit: How could I forget! I also retextured rose bushes! I'm much happier with this version. Have a look:
I created a random world to take that screenshot, and there were five pink sheep all right there in spawn. The white one on the left wandered up and looked right at the camera just as I took the picture. So there you go.
Long time no see! Everyone's real excited about snapshot 15w31a (finally) being released, and I'm excited about all the new blocks. Some of those I have ready to go, and I have a few that I'm still working on. Changes to block models will take a bit longer to get straight, but I'm excited for the new possibilities. Expect a patch to v1.3 of the resource pack that you can apply over v1.3 soon-ish.
I've got a side project or two that's been keeping me busy since February, and I hope to show something off in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

Hey RocketTurtle, I thought you might want a bit of help with fixing the textures being rotated, I've fixed the block states so they don't do that, If you'd like to you can use the files from my Rotated Texture Fix.
[...], and I hope to show something off in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
... and then I disappear for almost three months! Blame Elite: Dangerous, I guess.
I have been working on Tronic Remix, though, and I have all the new blocks textured, with the exception of boats and elytras. The boat texture is pretty horribly overlapped, so I'm not sure I'll be able to properly tronic-ify it without a bunch on crossed sections. And it seems Jeb is working on a way for elytras to be textured on a per-player basis, so there's not much point in making a texture for the pack. I'm sure everyone has their own tastes for what elytra textures look good for them, so I'll leave that up to the individual to apply the texture they like.
Right now I'm working through the changed block models for fences, iron bars, and glass panes to straighten things out with them, then I should be able to release a patch. Hopefully soon! For certain values of soon.
Thanks Dangeresque486 for the un-rotated block files, I'll have a look today!
Finally, at long last, Tronic Remix v1.3.1 is released to coincide with Minecraft snapshot 15w45a. Take a look at the first post for a download link.
This patch adds textures for all of the new nether content; so chorus plants and purpur blocks and shulkers and end rods and so on. Nothing has been left out! New zombie villager textures are in, as well as frosted ice and beetroots. Mojang also "fixed" the boat texture, so I was able to texture them after all. I even put together a simple elytra texture for completeness. I modeled the texture after the ender dragon wing, which looks pretty good. I still assume most folks will be changing that texture to suit their own tastes, but now you have something even if you don't change it.
This patch also has quite a bit of fixes to texture errors, as well as improvements I've been meaning to make. Have a look at the change log (in the patch zip) for more details. Once Minecraft 1.9 is released, Tronic Remix 1.3.1 will be rolled into v1.3 to become v1.4. That may happen in a few weeks, according to Mojang's development cycle.
I've also updated the FullSideGrass and OpaqueLeaves patches to the new resource pack format, so check those out as well. Again, links to these patches are up in the first post.
Snapshot 15w46a was released today, and it's mostly bug fixes. But, there was a change to rabbits, bringing them more in line with their Pocket Edition counterparts. They're smaller and more skittish, but they'll still approach if you hold out a carrot. Helpfully, the textures haven't changed along with their size, so the resource pack still works perfectly fine in 15w46a.
Another notable change in this snapshot is that the natural color variants are now biome specific. White rabbits only spawn in snow biomes, golden rabbits in deserts, and the brown, salt, and black rabbits everywhere else. (Toast and the killer rabbit don't spawn naturally.) In Pocket Edition, the white rabbit texture is more like an arctic hare than a petshop white rabbit (which is more like an albino), so I've modified the white rabbit texture to match. I wouldn't want to release another patch for one texture, so I'll hold off until I can group more changes into a patch (or Minecraft 1.9 is released, whichever comes first). Screenshot below.
Minecraft 1.9 was (finally!) released today, so I've updated the original post with links to Tronic Remix v1.4!
The new shield and end city textures have been available for a while now through the v1.3.1 patch (which is now rolled into v1.4). But I have been busy since then. Taking inspiration from several resource packs, I've added a bunch of custom double-slab textures for your decorating needs! Each double slab has a unique texture; technically each one has two unique textures, one for the top/bottom and one for the sides. The intended way to use them is in walls or ceiling/floors, to add details and visual patterns. Hope you enjoy!
Custom Double-Slab Textures
Some of those screenshots are way darker than before I uploaded them to Imgur. Sorry about that.
Surprise! Minecraft 1.10 was suddenly released today, so I've updated the original post with a new download link to Tronic Remix v1.5!
No screenshots prepared, but if you download you'll see new textures for magma, bone blocks, netherwart-infused blocks and bricks, polar bears, Husks, and Strays. And a new title piece by reddit user /u/SLembas! And structure blocks! Is that it? I think that's it. Go have a look!
Wow, three months and ten days since the last post! I'm still alive, and looking at snapshot 16w39a. Very excited for new things to texture! Expect an updated texture pack in the (near? far?) future!
Just wanted to say thanks for doing this. I come back to minecraft almost every year and always look to see if someone is keeping my favourite resource pack alive.
Another five months without a post or update, how embarrassing. I aten't dead!
I ran aground texturing the llama carpets, which proved to be just tedious enough at just the wrong time to knock me out of texturing for way longer than I'd like. I'm playing catch-up now, and working to get up to date with the new snapshots. Let's hope another five months don't go by without another update from me! Tronic Remix will be brought up to date with 1.12!
It's my own take on evilmouse's original Tronic texture pack, with textures from other (abandoned) Tronic packs, as well as a large selection of my own content. Hence calling it a remix.

Hope you enjoy!
v1.2.3 Screenshots
Here's a few images of the new rabbits:
v1.2.4 Screenshots
Stay tuned!
Hey RocketTurtle, I thought you might want a bit of help with fixing the textures being rotated, I've fixed the block states so they don't do that, If you'd like to you can use the files from my Rotated Texture Fix.
... and then I disappear for almost three months!
I hope you enjoy and leave some feedback!
v1.3.1 Ender City
Upcoming Snow Rabbit
Tronic has been my favorite since the beginning.
I love that it is being kept up!
1.11 incoming?
It is the best texture pack imo.
