The title for this says that it works for 1.8.7 but when I try to run the patcher it doesnt give me an option to run it for version 1.8.7. It doesnt go above 1.8.4. Anyone else having this problem? I cant play on my realm without 1.8.7

a full list of packages from the repository include both 32 and 64 bit versions as well as several others, but these are the ones you need and they will pull in any other deps if you install via yum or dnf
But TBH I woud just say that you need to install the latest release for security and bugfix reasons anyway.

could you explain all that in blond? Cuz I have no idea what you mean. What is yum and dnf?
I tried to verify my java on chrome and found that, apparently, chrome is no longer compatible with java. So I used firefox to update to the latest version, but mcpatcher still doesnt give me an option to patch past version 1.8.4
Dang, I can't get all the textures for John Smith Legacy to work without MCPatcher, and it won't run with Forge 10.13.3.1448. Looks like I'm gonna have to stay away from John Smith Legacy and its derivatives until Optifine compatibility can be upgraded.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
so presumably you are on Windows then ? all that previously was for Fedora Linux operating system by way of comparison.
you will need to know whether the system you are on is 64-bit or 32-bit
Yes, I am on windows. My system is 64 bit and thats the version of java that I downloaded, but even with the latest version, I still cant get it to work

In that case you might consider setting up your system to dual-boot between windows and linux, and use linux to play minecraft
I dual boot myself but for the opposite reason -- to occasionally play a game on Windows. except for Minecraft, which runs (for me, on windows 7) like a VW Bug pushing a dumptruck full of boulders. yet, same hardware, runs beautifully on linux with the same Java release. go figure.

as you can see in the picture, the chestplatei.properties is working, but the chestplate.properties not fully.
can somebody help me with this?
I've come across this problem, and have asked about it in a previous post. I'm pretty sure there is a problem with CIT in 1.8+, so I've considered it a bug. Try going back into 1.7.10 and see if it works properly. If it does, and it is as I fear, then you can join me at the bar waiting for the fix.
Kahr, there's a new version agnostic mod system out by FyberOptic called Meddle. It's basically a tweak mod loader. Is there any chance of this getting ported to that? You wouldn't have to port the patcher, just the output. I'd do it myself if I actually understood the code.
Upsides to runtime patching: no forge specific patches, more compatibility, ability to use in modpacks without breaching Mojang ToS.
Thank you for replying.
I will try to use your repackager.

How to make MCPatcher works with minecraft 1.8 + forge? when i try to patch my forge profile it doesn't appear at the game version.
It seems MCPatcher doesn't suppost the latest recommended Forge versions. Try:
For 1.7.10, Forge 1291.
For 1.8, Forge

Im not sure. Which version should I be running?
For 1.8, it works with 1350
on my Fedora 21 system I have the following:
>$ rpm -qa |grep -E 'openjdk'
java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel-1.8.0.51-4.b16.fc21.x86_64

as you can see, my overlay don't work properly!!!
in my cit folder i have:
leather_layer_1.png
leather_layer_1_overlay.png
leather_chestplate.png
leather_chestplate_overlay.png
chestplate.properties
type=armor
matchItems:299
nbt.display.Name=Jaqueta
texture.leather_layer_1=leather_layer_1
texture.leather_layer_1_overlay=leather_layer_1_overlay
chestplatei.properties
matchItems:299
nbt.display.Name=Jaqueta
texture.leather_chestplate=leather_chestplate
texture.leather_chestplate_overlay=leather_chestplate_overlay
as you can see in the picture, the chestplatei.properties is working, but the chestplate.properties not fully.
