Speaking of devs, is this mod even being worked on anymore?
One word, "Education". They're in school/ collage and it's screwing with their free time. When school's in everything slows down like crazy. Happened last year. They still pop in from time to time. They stated a few times awhile back that they were having a lot of trouble writing lore for the mod, so that could be part of it too. Try finding the time to write code and a story when you're up to your ears with exams, research, and essays. There are journal entries written first person from the perspective of a researcher making discoveries about I & F's creatures and world I think it was.

Yeah, makes sense. I found the Github repo(not sure if that's supposed to be private but it came up with just a quick search on Github so probably not), so I was wondering if they'd accept help with lore (and/or the mod in general). I'm not an artist, and I've only just barely dabbled in code, but I have cool ideas for stories sometimes... Maybe I could help out? IDK, some mod devs are more receptive than others so I thought I'd ask.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I hope someday there's more magic in Minecraft, though I know it's not likely to happen. In the meantime, I play modded a lot. I enjoy a lot of other games too, so don't expect me to be on the forums all the time.

Actually they posted about the Github themselves awhile back with a link to the Milestones page. Here it is again for anyone who wants it.
I Hope the Fairies are Tameable and can sit on yur Head or Shoulder PLSSS
I'd love to have them follow like Navi in Legend of Zelda. One idea proposed awhile ago that involves befriending them is that you don't so much tame one as coax one into joining you on your travels. Keep it happy and it will stay with you, more like a companion than a pet. Stop giving it what it wants and after awhile it will decide to leave you.
Maybe with a menu that is opened with shift click or some visual indicator like tail of a dog showing health would tell you how content it is. Being fairies one idea that comes to mind for a visual indicator is falling particles, to simulate pixie dust. More dust (or less dust) is a sign of restlessness. Not too much to prevent lag. Or maybe some particles are always falling and they change color to show discontentment.
A further thought is being able to encourage fairies to settle in a more convenient mushroom, like moving villagers to a village you have built. Coax one into following and leave it by this new mushroom far enough from its home prevent it from returning and to force it to settle. Again, like moving villagers.
Well, the only two issues I see on that page that haven't been solved yet are more code-related than anything. If the mod still isn't released by the time I learn how to code I'll probably lend a hand.

Hi, I have got the impression that you at the very least know the dev's.
I put out a request on the MMD discord channel for help for this mod (hope that's ok) and LordCazsius said that the dev's were rude and unfocused (he's the author of Jurassicraft 2).
Is this true from your perspective? Is there any way that aid can be put towards this?
I don't like people badmouthing others and I find it hard to believe that Alex (the dev) is a rude and unfocused person.
Actually, LordCazsius isn't the author/owner of Jurassicraft 2. I am, along with Gegy1000 and Cody Rex.
My personal opinion is that both Alex and Raptor are very cool, but busy people. But I've never noticed them being rude, not without a reason at least.
It's a shame we can't get more dev's to work on this. I'm surprised it's not more popular considering the good reception dragons got when skyrim was realised, and the mechanics of this mod are very similar.

Caz and Alex have some disagreements in regards to work ethic and behavior. You won't find any concrete display of their disagreements unless you were in the FA and JC discords
I just found out that the devs are currently working on porting Fossils and Archeology to 1.10.2. This isn't their only mod and they have other projects going on that just slows them down even further.

Skyrim has had an enormous fan following since before the mod, so it's not really a good example for a popularity comparison. I haven't looked at that mod, but if we can mix them it might up Ice and Fire's following.
Edit: The same goes with potentially mixing Ice and Fire with 1.10.2 Fossils and Archeology.
Personally I think this mod should stay separate from dinosaur-type mods. Dinosaurs were real living creatures that existed in a unique environment, and bringing them into modern day in terms of the Minecraft world from the bones is more futuristic in terms of the technology needed.
This mod is more along of the lines of mythology and magic, particularly having a medieval background. It would completely break the immersion if you mixed the mods and had players dig up old dragon fossils and bring them back to life along with other dinosaurs or have them existing alongside other dinosaurs. It would imply that dragons existed along side dinosaurs and died out a while ago, which doesn't fit with the mythological theme of dragons at all. It also would make adding other mythological creates very odd and not fitting to the new theme.

They're not mixing the mods. I think it was just implied that some might enjoy playing with both in a pack. They've mentioned before, I believe, that those concerns were unjustified.
This mod while impressive and I have hopes that it will come to fruition has the same problems as most other large project ideas that try to do a big first release or grand opening, if you will, instead of just working on it slowly and adding content as they can. And eventually it just dies off; Atmosmobs, Ecocraft come to mind as good examples.
I'd like to inform all of you that the beta tests are entering "release candidate" phase. The unshipable bugs have been for the most part solved, and we are currently trying to have the mod built but are suffering from difficulties around errors with the forge maven that many others have been having trouble with in the last few weeks. Hopefully this issue is resolved during next week.
Thankyou very much for the update and keep up the great work. I hope that the effort you have put in is deemed worthwhile and receives the appreciation it warrants

I swear to god Im gonna laugh my ass off if there is a Easter egg where if you name a fairy Navi, it'll follow you and never shut up xD

Stuff it in a bottle, resurrect upon death.
I'd love it. And it would basically be doing the same thing that totem does.

Sorry about that, I must have misread his role or something
BTW, would you guys by any chance would want to help this mod out, or are you under the same attitude as LordCazsius?

Well, tell LordCazsius that he's being irrational.
