Why don't you just use all the planned models and use LLib to do your animations and code the rest for you. I don't recommend staying in 1.8 either go 1.11+ or 1.7.10. Also if you don't mind I have a dinosaur modpack for 1.7.10 so it's your choice on where to start at.
Just an explanation on what this whole ecocraft and that wildcraft is merging with JC to be the new atmos mobs?

no the "coder" quit with nothing except two or three models done apparently he refused to do actual code but, yeah he is long gone.
